does anyone know what Air Wisconsin is going to do with their BAE146s once they are no longer flying with UA and are 100% US? i know US isn't taking them. are they retiring them?

Good question. Personally, I know of no other domestic carrier that flys them (Mesaba comes close with the smaller Avro RJ85), or any other domestic carrier whose scope agreements would allow them except as mainline.

Jazz flys the Bae's, so maybe they would be interested.

IIRC, AirWisc's BAE's are a little long in the tooth, so I don't know if Mesaba would bother with them. They do make a decent charter aircraft, though.

Maybe they should send them to the West Coast, paint a smile on the nose and start flying

SAN-OAK, SAN-SJC, SAN-SMF, SAN-RNO, etc.http://www.cactuswings.com/psa/hangar/smiliner.php

Southwest could use a little competition in those markets and others.

I remember many rides on the 146. Nice quiet airplane and always the smoothest landing Ive ever been on. Wish they'd bring em back out here in the West.... 🙂

I read somewhere they are headed to long-term storage and that AirWis is glad to be out of the business of operating them.

I doubt the BAE-146 has much hope of being competitive cost-wise with Southwest or just about anyone else.

Nope -- Jazz is replacing 'em with the long CRJs
