Aircraft maint issues

You need proof of that. Then you need to pursue it. Then you need to get past the lobbyists and the airline executives. By then we are right where we are today.

You're pretty useless aren't you.

Funny how this is the same TWU and we don't have the right as members to do the same. Notice the article did not mention the unions name.

You don't do a good job actually "reading" the article do you.

1st this is a TWU "Local" (((((NOT))))) the TWU International or the Asso.
2nd the 2 Dozen (24 people) are asking for the board to step down when they already got what they need to make that happen. Here let me show the comment to you,

""""""The group has about 6,000 signatures supporting the recall of the board. That means they will be able to hold a special election.""""""""

Now what YOU want again for the millionth time, YOU have not made it happen. Obviously except for your participation here you're too lazy to put in the hard work to make your dream a reality.

TWU SWA FA's must have wanted something a lot more than your group wants it.

Does anyone think that the company would have put out the "garbage" letter had there not been picketing? Correct, the public is only interested in on time flights, cheap seats, and bags arriving with them. To hell with us or where work is performed. The picketing got the company's attention. Not necessarily the public's attention. The "garbage" letter should have woken up the IAM side as to what the company wants to do to them. They should be getting on the IAW and work safe program and maybe show up at a picket.

You don't even need to work safe, you just follow the maintenance manual or your own procedures, half the time you take short cuts especially if you are a line guy. How many of you take a perfectly good tire with plenty of tread on it, to change a worn out brake and not deflate the tire, even though the manual tells you to. Suddenly your putting on a new tire with every brake change, like in reality you should be anyway !

You don't even need to work safe? You bring up a good point that a lot of guys may be overlooking but working safe is as important as IAW. That means insuring you have enough people to accomplish a job: Spotters when moving equipmemt around aircraft, wing walkers when moving aircraft, verification when working on slides, checking condition and dates on equipment. Safety is no accident.

I never met don't be safe, management always took people saying work safe as hint hint code to slow down, then you union is at risk for being sued. If you follow the procedures no one can accuse you of doing a slow down!

All AA mechanics just follow the Job Cards to the letter. Make the company provide the tools. Only have the minimum tools required by the company. You don't have to slow down! The weekly checks, over night checks should take 2 mechanics between 6-8 if done to the Job cards. That is not including your write ups. Work smarter, not harder!!!
