What's new

ALPA needs to fight for the east...

Yep, 24 years to go. But I know there are no guarantees. I've been furloughed twice. In fact sometimes I think if I get furloughed again, or the East burns the house down, it could be doing me a favor. I know where the door is if I don't like it. That is exactly why I am blunt on these threads. That is why I don't bring this crap home with me.

It's not hard to start your own business, be your own boss, and go home with a piece of mind. At least you control your destiny.

AWA320,

From your post it sounds as if you're prepared to go to war with the East pilots, which will last atleast a decade unless their is a settlement.

USA320Pilot

Not being a part of the pilot group I can not vouch for his position one way or another but as a member of this board(lurking for sometime) this poster really has no credabilty? at all.

At the risk of receiving a reply of some length, which I really do not intend to read,I suggest that fellow posters take this poster for what he is- an excuse for entertainment.

Together with the other "fire starters" they can collectively get together on this board and metaphorically "burn this place down". Then they might feel better.

700...just a little rough math. If AWA has 1800 pilots, and East has about 3200..That would put 51% at somewhere just above the 2500 number. Hmmmmm. If the 500 "golden" East guys all voted no, and all but about 199 others voted yes...would you not have 50% + 1?

Just messing with you.

Greeter (not sure about how any of this change of union stuff really works}

If we vote out ALPA we'll have the same children on the East side running the new union, only without adult supervision.

Count me out. I'd bet there are another 499 who feel the same way.

Glad to see you feel strongly about this issue.

Now lets add something to the mix. Your union fights not only for the group but individualy as well. It is the job of the union to fight for everything it can. Protect and defend EACH dues paying member. You act as if the west is the only one to pay dues.

Opportunities or not, failure to work things out or not, is not the issue here. It is the job of the union to fight each battle for each member.

Just my humble opinion...

Did they come ask you personally, what you wanted??

Single carrier status means both carriers are operating as one and all respective classifications fall under the same bargaining unit.

The NMB determines this.
