Here's the new one for the week--the USAPA files is being closed.

I suppose it has been rather boring rehashing all of the same crap over and over... Man! What are we gonna do when this chapter is finally closed guys?!?!

...i'm sure we'll find something else to express our unfailing admiration for one another... 😉

Unfailing admiration?..Where/When did "basic respect" exit? 😉..I forgot..you're a person with at least 12,000-26,000 flight hours, and have been all around the world/fought fiercly/been-there-done-that on every level/etc...sigh...ya' know?..."unfailing admiration" may have to wait for awhile 😉..Try earning the least bit ot any such first...and NO..It doesn't instantly accord to your great lifetime achievement of being freshly hired at AWA.

Never really did. I'm sure we have been able to piss each other off plenty on these boards but I'd like to think I'd treat you like anyone else...

Yeah it's closer to 75000hrs and 'round the world 10x... 😉

...sigh...ya' know?..."mutual admiration" may have to wait for awhile 😉

Dang... Just when the Stuart Smalley school of positive self affirmation was starting to kick in...

That's very nice..and even less condescending of you than is normally the case. Now?..Kindly give me the slightest reason to think much of you sir

Seriously? = 7,500 hours is a very rspectable start, and you haven't killed yourself...I'm kidding on the last, and mean no disrespect by the poor attempt at humour.. Now: just why should I wish you to have the seat of "junior" Bros's of mine with yet more time and experience?

C'mon in the end we are all just human beings trying to get by... Sometimes I may need a prozac but this industry will do that to you from time to time. In the end I don't believe you really loathe any of us out west. Mostly I think you are just stating your position and sometimes do it with a jab or two. Fair enough. We all do it.

Honestly I cannot answer your last as it seems there is nothing, in my opinion, that would seem to convince you adequately. You've made up your mind... And this is fine. I think we have all made up our minds concerning what will work for us. Now it is a waiting game in this chess match to see how one will react.

Well spoken sir.

" In the end I don't believe you really loathe any of us out west." How could I truly?..on any lasting emotional level?...we're all just sadly afflicted with this "flight virus" (I've a pronounced "GI Joe" chauvinism, but that's another matter entirely)....if not for the mess we're in....etc. I have no "class hatred" towards the west, (a select few individuals I do find disgusting, and would cheerfully send down in flames though) and...I do very much hope that we'll eventually work this hideous mess out. Who ever knows what the future holds and what this will take to do?

FYI:
Fellow pilots,

As we prepare ourselves for a new chapter in the history of this pilot group, it is important that each and every one of us stay properly informed.

Your USAPA volunteers have made it our top priority to disseminate correct information to you efficiently and in a timely manner.

As part of this ongoing effort, we will be scheduling a series of road shows throughout the system. The first one will be held at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott on December 10th from 0800-1900.

Available to take your questions will be two of USAPA's attorneys along with your USAPA volunteers. Get the real facts from these individuals.

Collectively we'll build a union for the pilots by the pilots.

We'll see you there and we thank you once again for your continued support.

When's the road show hitting PHX? Good thing there's already a popcorn machine in the crewroom (there really is!).

I remember when the APA sent its first reps over to STL to schmooze us ex-TWAers. And they were already our bargaining agent. The frost still hasn't melted.

I'm not going to invoke Rodney King and ask: "Can't we all just get along?" At this point, I don't think it is possible. Maybe someday. I hope so.

We ALL know exactly where each of us stands on every issue before us. After more than two years, it appears that none of us are convinced of the other sides views. We're all doing what we feel we need to do.

Now that USAPA has filed, why don't we all just stop (or at least tone down) all the rhetoric here and see how this plays out. Not one of us individually will have more than 1/5000 of a say in any of this.

"Alia iacta est," as Suetonius wrote. "The die has been cast."

Let's just now sit back, take in all the attention that ALPA and USAPA are about to toss our way, crack open a beer and watch the show.

Screaming at each other any longer is a senseless pee into the wind.

And come out to see the unveiling of our new USAPA logo:

3000 well-fed pigeons in echelon formation (by DOH, of course) with the last one carrying a guano-covered sign "Wish You Were Here"

Some people just seem too dumb to be real.

FYI:

Fellow pilot,

The USAPA insurance committee continues to work to provide this pilot group with insurance products when USAPA wins the representational election. As we reported in our October update, we still expect to be able to provide comparable insurance products to this pilot group on the date that USAPA becomes the new bargaining agent. Our goal continues to be to have a “seamlessâ€￾ transfer from the ALPA plans to new plans while keeping insurability requirements to a minimum and keeping rates comparable or lower.

Please understand that the process may seem slow at times, but the insurance committee is working hard to have insurance plans in place when USAPA wins the election. Nothing less than this goal is satisfactory. Everything we have learned so far has led this committee to believe that this goal can be met on Election Day. Stay tuned for more updates.

FYI:

Thank you for calling in, this is the USAPA phone message for Monday, December 3rd 2007.

Much has happened over the last week. Your pilot volunteers at USAPA have been quite busy building a better union for all of us. If you are interested in serving your fellow pilots in a committee or representative position, please send an email to Volunteer@USAirlinePilots.org.

USAPA leaders, volunteers and attorneys will be in Philadelphia to meet with you at the airport Marriott on Monday, December 10th between 0800 and 1900. This will provide Philadelphia-based pilots and other pilots passing through with a valuable opportunity to take the measure of this new union and to share your thoughts with the USAPA leadership.

Late last week the existing bargaining agent, the day after missing their NMB filing deadline, asked the board to delay the process a few weeks. They profess uncertainty as to whether East and West US Airways might now be a single transportation system and would like a few weeks to study the issue. Their letter to the NMB is posted on the USAPA web site along with our attorney’s response. It’s a good read.

A USAPA insurance update email will be sent out today, additional new information can also be found on our web site.

USAPA has reached a preliminary agreement for office space near the South Park area in Charlotte. The site selected is in a safe neighborhood, is priced significantly below market rates and the lease terms are favorable to USAPA. We anticipate signing a contract for the space this month. This is the building mentioned earlier that contains an internet data center. It’s a nice facility and the abundance of available bandwidth provides USAPA with many opportunities to better and more efficiently serve US Airways pilots.

USAPA has selected a communications firm in Charlotte to assist us. JC Thomas Marketing Communications will help us provide you with more useful and frequent communications beginning this week.

USAPA has established a working group to keep an eye on the industry, our airline and events related to the pilot representation campaign at US Airways. If you come into contact with useful information, please forward it to Intelligence@USAirlinePilots.org.

Thanks again for calling in and thank you for your continuing support.
