I wouldnt go but I am curious how they try to put a positive spin on it
What the membership decided was best in clt was to boycott the meetings 100%, except for the union officers that were there with 2 of us being on the negotiating committee. We were the ones that went to each meeting throughout the day to deliver the message that nobody would be coming.

In our opinion the company was looking for numbers to attend. Even if the ones that showed would have been confrontational, the company would have been able to say they had hundreds that attended the meetings. We didn’t want that. We thought a stronger message was sent by them seeing people walk out of the break rooms when they came in, and only the union officers remained.
I agree it’s debatable in what was the best approach, but we went with what we thought was best.

Weez if it's not too personal ,were you left with any huge expenses with your health incident?

I’d rather not say the exact amount Al but this link pretty much sums it up and I take the Standard option. For me it was manageable but again I’m single so my deductibles are lower than a guy with a wife and kids he needs to support.

Right there is a honest answer backed up by opinion and not facts. Then you add that the approach was debatable (but felt it was best) allows me to salute you CB. Excellent and truthful answer. Thank you!

I think both my plan and cost are closer to the Value Plan but I'm sure there is debate there of course you didn't know you were going to get sick

The approach was definitely easier

I agree. The approach was easier. But also easier to get 100% participation. Or non participation if you want to call it that. We thought that was the most important of all. And that was sending a strong message on whatever way we chose to go.

It certainly was a little out of left field but sooner or later things were bound to catch up to me. And probably better they were sooner rather than later.

We had a guy at work my age that had a heart attack, had a couple other episodes needed stints two times $4000 both times out of his pocket with SWA insurance.

Are you guys saying LUS healthcare or the highway or would you be open to meet in the middle. After looking at Weez's plan it would seem the company could do better for its employees especially the way they spend money on other stupid things

Your SWA Insurance is not very good driver honestly. Your pay and benefits are good but the Medical is where they get back at you. (And Delta)

I had a Kidney transplant 8 years ago. As the subject of healthcare pops up. short story: The medicine to keep my new kidney and other issues, rotted my teeth. dental max is $1500 and the Insurance would not allow for a medical issue to cover a dental. so with rotten teeth, I had to raid my 401k, (age why I am 58) I wanted full implants so it has taken $60000 to have teeth again. Medical is a benefit that we all cherish but the most expensive. You might get that cost of living increase but it can be used up quickly
