Excellent post Coney although the company does share some blame, if a contractor putting in a new kitchen in your house performed like the Association is you would fire them and go with someone else. That is why going into section 6 with the same players is nothing short of INSANE.Why is that so hard to grasp for so many ? Union lemmings.

That would be insane to go sec 6 with these same union. Hopefully you guys will get a vote soon and replace them if sec 6 is reality.

i could negotiate a solid contract in less than one week, given the predicament of no leverage.

All current scope. I would just smash down the awful pension and agree with the company to double contributions into a 401. Shouldnt take that long. Maybe a day but certainly no more than a week.

Don't think that by getting a mediator that things will go faster, they will actually slow down a great deal from the previous routine. Are you saying the co. filed for sec 6?

The Association probably knew and colluded with Doug to have AA request the mediator so they can say the company requested the mediator and it's their fault for anything negative.
Kind of like they did when the Association was blessed without a vote, shoulders shrugged saying it's not our fault.
It's just a game and dues payers (I don't refer to us as Union Members)
Are the losers.

Now reading what they wrote on Jetnet apparently they made no move whatsoever at all from what they proposed the last time months ago?

I could have sworn that someone was saying that the Company had offered more? Oh well I guess that was nothing but a load of more chit on top of all the chit the guy already writes.

read youw own updates. The last offer was not a standing offer. they offered all work, even lavs. The union was pleased. The offer was pulled cuz sito tried to "line item" the offer.

Tim the past couple of contracts had raises past the ammendable date why not this time was it an oversight or complete incompetence by the Association again?

Today American Airlines has formally requested that the National Mediation Board (NMB) assign a Federal Mediator to our Negotiations. This request is part of Section 6; there is no time limit on the mediation procedures. The NMB controls the schedule of the talks and only the NMB may release the parties from mediation.

As the information is received, we will forward it to you as soon as possible. The company has released a letter to members as to what they have offered to you, but they have not provided the reasoning to why they refuse to offer job security for the future and only stay focus on the ability of out-sourcing jobs in the future.
