They should buy a 748i and name it “IAM Force One”.

Since it’s built by IAM Member’s also.
who the iam screwed when the members and locals were against Boeing freezing the pension and sito got a second vote as it was rejected by the members. So screw your iam crap

Sito has/ had nothing to do with Boeing.

He is GVP of Transportation, not Aerospace.

Former IP Tom Buffenbarger was the one who did the revote with Boeing.

Get your story straight.

didnt Sito get his daughter a gig at boeing corporate while corporate was taking iam member company pensions?

You guys all still on this page?
Prolly the same circular topics. Ill check in from time to time to give updates but there really wont be much to discuss since the Association botched things and a section 6 contract wont be had for years.
And no. The new baggage fees and extra millions of dollars wont put more on the table as weez implied. Uncle Jerry and the company are way too greedy.
And after nobody listened to Mr Basketts and Mr Petersons "attack the company" videos, the company surely realizes members arent on the same page of madness.
Good Grief!

Oh so true. You have too many association members in denial and think the association is going to get us an ILC. It hasn't happened in three years of negotiations and now we are on hold until at least November. The company is about maximizing profits and cutting heads. Hasn't anyone noticed this yet?
Look at all the outsourcing they acquired in BK. It's going to continue. The association is buying time. Two to four years in mediation possibly and then what? Arbitration? PEB? That's the best the association can do to prevent outsourcing, layoffs and keeping the dues flowing to the fat cats at both International levels. Keep the payments to the AFL-CIO and the contributions to the IAMPF. Eventually it's going to come to an end. Maintenance hangars in Mexico and Brazil. Outsourcing work to Alabama and North Carolina. Aircraft maintenance has over 10,000 AMT'S. That's not sustainable under this new management team. They don't want to pay $30 an hour for someone to load bags. They proved this with cabin service in BK. They want to get rid of title 2 guys and outsource the work.
To add a kick in the nuts the TWU proposed doing away with tech crew chiefs at line stations because UsAir doesn't have them. GP agreed to remove recall rights to displaced AMT'S and have to use the transfer list to get back to their families and live a normal life. Does this sound like an ILC that the company and unions are negotiating for?

Yea, I heard about the removal of recall rights signed on to by the Association. But remember, none of us are actually members of this miserable organization.
Weezle and other IAM Pollyanna's still don't take into account that all airline managements are greedy as heck. The only options are to submit the proposal to a vote, or take a lot less in 4 years. Sito is aware of this but he has to protect United since he is sworn to that airline and will continue collecting our money for the pension even though it is on "Death Watch". Once the TA comes out, Sito knows the mechanics will bolt since him and Alex Garcia were responsible for throwing away all the merger leverage we had by handing cross utilization and 'seamlessness' to the company, in return for 20 pieces of silver so the TWU can boost their dues 15%. So Sad.

Tim. what's up with the deicing in Ord. Did the airport finish the Pads, and the outsourcing company, are they going to takeover the entire airports deicing function and require all airlines to use them due environmental concerns? And is there an actual company that's hiring there right now? Who has the link?

ORD De-icing will be contracted by the city. Not sure when it will happen, but one company will de-ice all planes. It could be American who gets that contract, or United, or someone else. I simply do not know when or who.

The Association keeps getting worse. With no disclosure of the offer, and with no vote, I can no longer support this miserable anti-union organization. Giving up cross utilization and our total leverage so the TWU can get a dues grab was bad enough but I figured, at least they would honor their word and allow a vote prior to section 6 on the company's last best offer. Another lie. Now, we simply wait until Sito retires otherwise he won't allow the IAM Pension to be taken out. Meanwhile, the company is so greedy that it actually is more than comfortable keeping the TWU bankruptcy contracts forever. So, we are losing $275 a week and it's now up to $550. Gotta get the Association out then bring a vote for the contract.

Build A Better Union Update

As we move things forward in a more radically democratic union, over 25 properties have contacted us about replacing the Ill Ask Management regime. Some of the Hoghlights:
1. 75% of all dues stays at the Local level
2. Dues $40...
3A. Authority for negotiations and grievance handling given to Local level.
3B. Outside Attorneys will be contracted to arbitrate so that the members won't end up with an uneducated shop steward (Who kissed alot of ass) arbitrating against Ivy League pros.
4. Intl Salaries Minimum $50,000 or Current base pay + 15%. Max Salary of $95,000.
5.No cash spending on politics, charities, alchohol, 5 star hotels.
6. No purchases of Real Estate, investments.
7. Quarterly virtual meetings. Other meetings, as determined.
8. Only 1 yearly conference.
9. Voting: 30 days with opportunity to mail in ballot or vote online.
10. Union Discipline: Run by outside independent arbitration association. No discipline agains members who pay their dues, except for grossly negligent actions against members.
11. Officer Candidacy requirements: Dues paying member for 2 years.
12. No children or relatives hired.
13. No extras like additional pensions for officers. No retirement gifts. No Automobiles for reps. Nothing.
14. All contract changes must be voted upon, even if small in nature.
15. The entire negotiation team will be made up of only members who will be working under the particular contract. No members from other companies will be involved in negotiations that are not their own.

Basically, all money will be on representation. No money will be spent on politics. And all powers will be given to the Local level

Tim,

You speak of no leverage, I think you are missing one key piece of leverage. It's no secret that the company wants to outsource several thousands of jobs as Fleet Service and Maintenance employees retire. Think about it, how much money are they spending by not having that ability to outsource! An employee told me they saw Isom say in a town hall $2 million a day it costs the company by not having a JCBA. 3000 employees is over a million a day in wages and benefits. I'll leave it with one of my favorite sayings, "Math is math, numbers don't lie!"

If true, I guess they'd rather lose money than give in on the medical and scope issue for the short term.
