So Tim, have they announced the next round of IAM pension cuts yet.
the double portion in my 401k is wanted so my retirement wont end up comple toast by the iam. But regardless of who wins elections and/or what contract is signed, my benefits with the iam are almost certain to be cut within the near future before the federal govt will have to get involved. Things arent perfect on our end Bob. Good comeback.

Look it's time for Peterson and you, because I think you and Peterson are both very capable to get and need to majorly takeover. Its also time to quit the Iam crap, they bring nothing but head aches to the table. Peterson has to make his case, in a business way to TEXAS and OKLAHOMA and MIAMI, what's at stake with too much outsourcing. He should go to the papers and explain his position on the outsourcing. Why he went to Ord and NY is beyond me. In the end the 3 states if they're not crazy social wise heavy which I don't think Dfw is yet, Mia???. In the end there's a medium and pressure points for sides. But kowtowing to understanding to anything Iam is why this will continue. The offer on the table is genius by managment,

Media doesn't care and speaking to a country with stagnant wages is also an echo chamber.

The position taken by the Association congress from the top, not GP or any others on the NC. Once they created the Executive Committee the NC voices were muted.

What the airline is doing shouldn't have been a surprise and we should have been better prepared for it.

um...the dfw/tulsa chamber of commerce doesn't care about loss of high paying mx jobs....especially around the airport. alright, go kowtow to iam. tell us when you agree to something. F the association. its NOT WORKING. We're going to lose alot thanks to this line of thinking, and Iam general member will too, even more in the end. Better wake yourselves up.

Tim, you are welcome to express you thoughts as an opinion, but I don't see a vote any time soon, and that stems from the viewing of the State of the Airline. The company's offer was pure genius, and I believe what Parker is saying, not the union. And I also believe what Isom said, they never said that this is a take it or leave it offer, they wanted to make it known to the membership just what the "Comprehensive Proposal" was. the company publishing this info, to me, adds a level of transparency to this process, and yes it may go against, the unions unwritten rules to never tip your hand. The union is saying "this is what we are going to get" and the company is saying "this is what we are going to give you...period" No one can argue differently, that the company has ALL the power, and nothing can or will change that. The company wants 5000 MX jobs, they will get them, they also want catering, deicing, they too will get them. Just remember Parker gave a hint to the association to hurry up, he said "Jet fuel is rising" with his finger pointing up. Now at the end of the day, it is in my opinion that the association is in between a rock and a hard place, knowing that there can be only one winner in this game, knowing they union has no leverage, and also knowing that the items the company wants they will eventually get, despite the half baked attempts to display power and authority and give the allusion to the membership that they can control the course of negotiation. I had said this before, the position that the association is in now makes them vary vulnerable, and places a huge target on the backs of all involved with this negotiation, to save face, they just drag their feet till it gets to arbitration, and let them force the will of the company on us, because if it gets that far, they always side with the company, and you cant dispute that.

Get ready for Jet fuel to continue to rise, now that Trump has pulled out of the Iran Nuclear deal, and wants to reimplement sanctions. I am glad we came to an agreement at SWA, let's hope we are smart enough to take it.

Chambers of Commerce are pro-business outfits, not pro-labor. Good luck trying to get them on your side.

Do you believe it would have been better to stay with the Iranian deal?

I do and almost all of our allies agree. And if the price of oil shoots up because of this, it will affect our work and personal lives, and most likely our contracts. Since this is a contract thread, I will leave it at that.

Containment is cheaper than war, you have same war hawks that Bush 43 had. And we all know what happened to American in 2003. When your cost go up, and revenue drops, management is not so generous.

you used to piss me off sticking to your guns. Well, after 3 years, everything you have said has shown to be inconveniently accurate. Admittedly a mia poster once convinced me that you were management but your integrity has unwavered and you have been the only twu officer that has been honest over the years. I hope things dont pan out like you say but i will admit its looking like it as the ass is phenomenally unprepared.

sorry for deviating from the subject, when I saw the oil prices, I deviated.

With the garbage pos contract offer by DP and yesterday announcing by Trump the US pulling out of iran deal ant help but wonder whatkind of "new offer" would be made esp ifoil n fuel rise? Secondly would DL n UA seek cuts and how wld WN respond?

Part of representing is being honest with what you see. If a Member is wrong about something it's the representatives responsibility to tell them, but that doesn't impede that same representative from fighting tooth and nail against the airline to get the best possible outcome.

Lately, the expectation of the members is to tell them what they want to hear, even if it's wrong. That's counterproductive.

i liked the twu campaign about shipping jobs out of the country worked pretty well. And thats a theme that is easily exposed.

if not for the association, us iam would have been extremely hosed. The twu stuck by our stand alone talks to further all of our interest. We owe the twu nothing, it was mutual to advance. Ws owe the company nothing either.

so, you guys get your standalone and later on, suppose there is an election and the twu wins.

you're saying that you'd have gotten hosed because? the twu would have been quick to make a deal with the company to get rid of your insurance?

everyone in the airline business wants $48 oil forever.

the company has stated they can be profitable with much higher oil prices and just last week, dl announced it's raises and better financial incentives for it's ready reserve. like dl doesn't know that oil is currently rising?

being afraid and voting yes for the 1st thing on the table plays into the company's hands. in 2008, there really weren't any cards to play against $140 oil.

now, we can wait a bit for fares to catch up and for the frackers/shale oil to ramp up production again.
