American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Also, don't be surprised if the Association cashes out of the profit sharing and agrees to Delta +7%. Interesting.

i'd take it in a heartbeat, but 2018's even smaller PS (say $1,000 before taxes) checks vs. apprx. $4,500 more a year per F/T base wages doesn't sound like a deal the company would make.

I do see the profit sharing used as a bargaining chip, but I still don't think the company will move off of that .24 cent raise.

When you add up fuel, labor, and maintenance that equates to 51.35% of operating expenditures in 2017, 30.97% of that is labor alone. Is there any wiggle room left for added labor costs, I have no clue what the magic number is.

Bob, I posted a poll over on my facebook group (Not sure if you are there are not). Simply yes or no, do you think the ass should bring this for a vote?
Tim, over on your facebook there are a few folks saying the company is preparing a roadshow to explain their proposal. Did I miss that announcement, or is that just hearsay. It was stated it was in a Union update.

If other costs go up, wages won't suffer for it, it'll be other stuff that creates a cost for this airline and not for others.

the company must have suggested to the union that it will do a roadshow. Imo, the company is now digging in due to Sitos rants about Johnson. Oil going sky high with upward trends prolly takes pressure off the company.
As far as the roadshow, i think once the company goes down that path there will be a complete breach of trust and respect that will create a negotiation gulf.
I say that because any roadshow just wont be a unpacking of the offer, but im sure the company will have experts there showing that the next offer will have to be considerably less due to downward pressure from all the things that matter, including oil. The company changed its 5 year forecast downward so there is some legitimate parts to their argument even though myself and others dont find their argument convincing. Remember, when Parker claimed all the metrics meant we will never lose money again and that we could make money at $100 oil, he did so against the backdrop of assuming his offer to us would be accepted. Unless there is some world catastrophy, he needs to commit more....the exact reverse of what he has indicated.

Tim, didn't they already do that on jetnet, the one that started all this hubbub. And in my opinion, no "breach of trust" as you call it took place, it only shed light on whats real and whats fantasy. I feel that what the a$$ is telling us on what the company is doing is BS. And all the letters condemning the company, I think a total of 5-6, is just pure BS. So the ever so wise a$$ knows, that they haven't got any ammo left and the only way to keep what little support they have is to bombard us with false allegations against the company. The company doing a road show to shamelessly promote this offer sounds to me like rumor and I don't buy it for a second.

Huh? Are you paying attention? The company wants a minimum of 17% of our jobs. The company wants to cut insurance for 10000 employees. The company wants to pocket our money when employees don't contribute to the 401k. Plus on and on and on. They are offering a contract that is cost negative to cost neutral.

Yea, the Association is bad for pointing this **** out. Smdh

"The company wants a minimum of 17% of our jobs" That's a lie.

Keep spreading that propaganda dude, I stopped listening to you and your buddy CB along time ago. You two offer noting factual in the way of updates or otherwise.

Rez is so full dung, I can smell it here, YOU knew full well that your cheap Health, and catering were on the chopping block along with our deicing, yet you blindly trust your benevolent union, I will say this, the company does want 4500-5000 MX out the door, and from witch side they will come from is anyone's guess. Parker never said anything about cutting head count with the exception of MX

The funny part to this whole thing is that the IAM has one story, the TWU has another, and a$$ has yet another one, and then there is the company.
