Very positive press for AA and its employees.

Too bad the circumstances are so tragic.

There was a brief ceremony at Restland Funeral Home. Jackson will be buried in Rhode Island next week, officials said.

American Airlines will donate a 757 charter plane to the Dallas Police Department to take officers and others to Rhode Island, said John Hotard, a spokesman for the Fort Worth-based carrier.

The 188-seat plane will leave Dallas/Fort Worth Airport around 8 a.m. and is expected back the same day around 10 p.m.

A crew of 12 flight attendants and four pilots has donated their time, and D/FW Airport has waived landing fees, he said.

Jackson's casket will travel on an earlier American flight, Hotard said.

Officers will board the plane on the west side of the airport, in an area where the Dallas Cowboys normally board their American Airlines charter flight for road games, officials said.

Thumbs up to AA and its employees.

PVD waived the landing fees too and RIPTA (RI Public Transit Authority) provided all ground transportation for the officers.

While great to see an AA 757 in PVD, it was under terrible circumstances...

The AA PVD contract ramp donated thier time to work the flight as well. (Worldwide Flight Services)

Helping our fellow man is something that AMERICA and its citizens have always felt compelled to do. Im glad to see these kind of stories and this gesture of compassion by AA and the flight crews who volunteered!
