WT,
Maybe some of the AMR "fans" don't like your posts, and maybe you are a little Delta biased, but for a lot of people you do give a lot of history that helps. I think I read in previous posts that you are in the industry, which if this is the case, you have a lot more information than the average person has.
Do I find your posts informative...yes. Do you show bias, probably...but keep the info coming. That is what free speech is all about.....
Thanks but is it really bias if I tell you exactly what has happened in the market?
.
Maybe some people would rather not know the truth but it doesn't change the fact that DL has made NYC a key strategic focus over the past 5 years and by every measure I can see has managed to handedly ovetake AA which happened to be the largest and most business focused airline in New York City for years - AA's headquarters were in NYC until about 30 years ago.
If you or anyone else can provide evidence to show that AA is doing fine in NYC, I'm certainly open to see it... and whatever implciations it has for the rest of the US.
But they are going to have to be able to connect it with AMR's public filings such as its earnings reports which continue to signifcantly underperform the industry.
.
People here can't get over the fact that in the airline industry, when someone loses, someone else is going to win. The fact that it is DL doesn't change the fact that AA has given up its position as NYC's largest business airline.
.
Nor is the change in market position in other key markets like BOS something that happened in isolation. It's all part of the same trend... AA's cost structure is too high to defend its markets and other more nimble competitors have come after AA, which still carries a whole lot of premium revemue.

Actually, I am not in the industry now but have been in the past and gained enough knowledge to be able to follow and analyze the industry in ways that others cannot.
I actually work in non-profit leadership development now.

My brother is an AA employee, represented by the TWU.
That alone is why I would just as soon not see AA fail.
