Is there an Avionics category?

I was going to go and demonstrate how to operate an Electron Beam Welder, and get 100% penetration in 1.500 inch thick stainless steel with a non-beveled butt joint, welding at 30" per minute.

But instead decided to stay home and take 100% penetration between the glutes from AA using the leading edge of a TWU wedge per instructions in 1113c at a speed of weeks not months.

Good luck to anyone going, hope it makes you feel better.

Yep:

This event will test each team’s ability to troubleshoot aircraft component faults on a computer based format. The AMT will be given an aircraft system’s wire diagram and given a particular discrepancy. The AMT will then determine what the fault is and “replace” the suspect component. For each component “replaced” a dollar value will be given for that part. The goal of this event is to display the skills needed to repair a given “squawk” with as little cost as possible in finding the damaged component. There will be anywhere from 14 to 20 different discrepancies to accomplish. Total time used and total dollar value of parts used to repair the system will be used for the judging criteria. This event will be given 20 minutes to complete. CAE will provide the judge for this event.

Full list of events is here: http://www.amtsociety.org/pdf/2012_Maintenance_Skills_Competition_Criteria.pdf

Just exactly how many buttons do you have to push to "operate" the Electron Beam Welder? With enough button pushing experience you could become a pilot!!! B)

Touch'e

Used to acknowledge a hit in fencing or a successful criticism or an effective point in argument.

Perhaps you can demonstrate your ability to do a BITE check.....and you and informer can see who pushes more buttons to complete your task......Then you can Touche...douche your fingers....The word "douche" means to wash or soak in French 😀

Is that "Generally" the way it goes?

Why are the general mechanics so jealous of avionics?

Can you awe me with some avionics terms like informer did with his welding lingo?

I'm not even a mechanic...but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night 😉

I thought it was Motel 6.

AC/DC

No, I do not work in an AC shop on instruments. I work on a heavy maintenance line. Manicured no, the TWU is having a Foot Clinic though. But I do use the pink soap as the green soap is a little rough on my hands. Why are the general mechanics so jealous of Avionics?

And we call ourselves "Union Men"

That's a laugh

We are as divided and ignorant as they come!
