Just curious how they are going and how many are left.

all the 757ER's have been done, the 757OW's have just begun around 5-10 i think have been done. the 737's should be complete very soon, i think there are less than 10 left to complete.

<_< ------- We have two lines of 757 wing-let mods going here. And I hear we'll be doing the proto type 767 wing-lets also, than the aircraft will be given back to Boeing for test and certification.

After all this time, only 20-25 757's have been done? Geeze, seems like there should be more done. On another note, how many TW 757's are left? When does the last one leave? Are they still having problems installing the 737 winglets?

<_< ------- Listen friend! This mod isn't just screwing winglets on the end of wings! It's a major structural rework of the wing, from the engine pylons outboard. As for the exTWA 757s, there were nineteen of them. How many are still in the fleet, I have no idea.

Do you have any clue to the amount of work involved with the 757 winglet? You don't just screw on new wingtips....

WOW in stereo. Nice. Hey nimrods, I was just curious how many were done. It seems like the AMT's have been working on them for some time now. I also know it takes atleast a couple weeks do do one and I thought there was 2 or 3 different lines going at once. I guess if you can't answer the question, why respond?

<_< ------- By the way, this winglet thing can, and will be, a money maker. A Google executive has his private 757 here at MCI, and has ordered winglets to be installed on it. Also I've heard United Airlines has approached AA about possibly doing their fleet of 75's. Delta has also been mentioned. With the price of fuel these days, if you can pick up between three to five percent gain, which they claim the winglets will do, that can add up to a lot of cash quickly!

All ETOPS's birds are done. About 8 or 9 of the rest (75W in AA speak) are done , with about 93 left. As for the 737's most are done with just a few left.

I assume the 737's are done, any word on the progress of the 757's?
