I applied today for ramp agent position in TUL. I worked for Northwest back in 2007-2008 and was a ramp agent and customer service agent so I know the job. I live in New Orleans and would commute to TUL and stay there in a hotel and work my shifts then fly home on my off days...I would like to know if anyone has any inside contact info that would help me get the job in TUL....I have been out the industry for 2 years and miss it terribly that I am willing to commute. Any serious help I would appreciate it.

Thanks!!

I really hate to burst your bubble especially since you want back in the industry so bad. But if you really want the ramp job that bad you might want to consider moving to TUL.. I think you will find that commuting to MSY from TUL will be tough at best and a nightmare at worst. There are no non stops that I know of between those cities so you will have to connect somewhere if you want to work for UAL they only have flights to DEN from TUL so unless you want to go all the way to DEN and back to MSY you will have to use another carrier and then you will have a discount but you will have to pay something and connect in dallas on either AA or WN and Houston for CO That makes for a long day and you might only get two days off and you are willing to do this for an entry level ramp job? I wouldn't do it for my salary and I make over 40 dollars an hr. Again just trying to give you some things to think about.

I know what you mean.....I commuted some but not totally so I do know what factors are in play and I did see that MSY-ORD-TUL and MSY-DEN-TUL were my only options. And the Loads usually SUCK out of MSY anytime of the year. I just know I will not get anything in the near future at MSY as all carriers are still reeling from Katrina.
