In an editorial, the newspaper reminded its readers of the Aktion T4 program of Nazi Germany in which “children and adults with disabilities, and anyone anywhere in the Third Reich was subject to execution who was blind, deaf, senile, retarded, or had any significant neurological condition.â€
April 29 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said his grandmother’s hip-replacement surgery during the final weeks of her life made him wonder whether expensive procedures for the terminally ill reflect a “sustainable model†for health care.
“That’s where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues,†he said in the April 14 interview. “The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health- care bill out here.â€
Finally someone has the courage to speak about that which no one wants to talk about.
I mentioned this in a different thread already. At what point do we say that replacing a hip on someone who will never walk much less live much longer is not a prudent use of limited resources? We are no longer a rich country. We produce very little (try and find a 'made in the USA sign') we consume far more than we are entitled to IMO. An now we have to face facts. Either we find away to dramatically reduce the cost of health care or we start limiting procedures to those who need them. Not a easy solution to be sure but staying with the same plan we have now is not an option. Too many people are dying or being deprived of care who desperately need it.
People in the US never want to hear or talk about the start realities of life. If Obama really did say that, he will probably pay the consequences for it. The factthat it needed to be said and it needs to be talked about not with standing.
Either we find away to dramatically reduce the cost of health care or we start limiting procedures to those who need them.
keep the stinking snot encrusted, maggot infested, rat b*stard Federal Government out of my Wallet, Bedroom and Doctors Office as I for one have had enough.
The A&P would be a thing of the past (as if it already isn't).FAA............![]()
Dell,
you let me know how that works out for you. First you have to find a lawyer willing to take the case, then you have to hope that the violation of the insurance Co. is so blatant that they do not even contest it. Barring that, how much money are you willing to spend to sue them? Think you'll see a dime? Please. Everyone knows the Ins Co. are crooks, like they can be embarrassed. They could care less.
The saddest part about this whole fiasco is that rather than come up with productive ways to fix the problems with health care, the right is doing the same crap they did back in the 90's. Scaring the people with BS lies about death panels and the like.
I guess if you can beat them at the elections, just throw money at the lobbyist and they will do your dirty work for you.
Here is good example of why the FAA is a good thing:
Introduction
This Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) alerts you, (owners, operators, and
certificated repair facilities) of any propeller, or any propeller component parts, repaired, inspected,
or overhauled by Western Aircraft Propeller Service, Inc. (Air Agency Certificate #FQ6R544N) of
potential nonconformities that might exist. We have received field service difficulty reports
concerning two Hartzell Propeller, Inc. model PHC-C3YF-2UF (S/Ns EB1176 and EB1178)
propellers installed on a Hawker Beechcraft Baron Model E55 airplane. We evaluated the propellers
based on an owner complaint that his propellers were improperly overhauled. At this time, the
airworthiness concern is not an unsafe condition that would warrant airworthiness directive (AD)
action under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 39.
Background
The above suspect propellers were removed and sent to another propeller repair station for
evaluation. An FAA Flight Standards Principal Maintenance Inspector (PMI) witnessed the
subsequent teardown of the two propeller assemblies. During the teardown inspection several
nonconformities were discovered, and the propellers were sent to Hartzell Propeller, Inc. for further
examination. The following are some of the nonconformities compiled by the FAA PMI from that
examination...
