Where are all the comments from the west on Judge Silver's latest order?
It is a JCBA, didn't they tell you! The ASU tea social met and injuction , here it comes, they are on a vigorious timeline, just curious to see if those depositions take place and the deal HUMMEL and the boys cut with KOONTZ comes to light!

I still say heck just give up EAST SCOPE and COC, DUI will make sure were compensated for it, heck HUMMEL will at least make sure you get 10grand and at AA they will get a HUGE(100,000+) equity stake cmon guys!

We already tried the hardline via Cleary, and got an injunction. Now you lament Hummel "only" got you 10K. I understand everyone's frustration, but are you really happy you did not get that pitiful 10K? My glass is half empty now with a chip on the rim, and I can just see Frear and Courtney banging the table asking for the retrospective pay and the 10K absent the merger. After all, we "deserve it." I think the lost and pitiful 10K will look rather large in the coming months, especially when it is very difficult for me to take COC and Scope down to my local bank and ask for an advance! If anything we should be united in the stupidity of Doug sending those emails. Really? I guess being crowned Mr. Merger by the press and aviation world, he thought he was above it all. What's next, a TV show with a tour of his house? RR

ALPA Responds to DOJ Lawsuit to Block American–US Airways Merger - August 13, 2013

WASHINGTON—The Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), has released the following statement in response to the antitrust lawsuit filed today by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prevent the merging of American Airlines and US Airways:

“Today’s action by the Department of Justice (DOJ) has interfered with the steady progress that the airline industry has made to achieve an economically rational yet vigorously competitive industry. This merger has broad support by labor groups, investors on Wall Street, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), and other stakeholders.

“The Justice Department’s move isn’t rooted in the economic reality facing the aviation industry and its workers, one of the most fiercely competitive industries in the global economy. Moreover, the DOJ appears to have completely overlooked the need for U.S. carriers, such as American and U.S. Airways, to position them to compete in the international marketplace against powerful—often government-supported—foreign airlines.

“By filing this lawsuit, the DOJ has completely ignored decades of instability in the airline industry that has caused many carriers to go out of business, communities to lose service, and employees to lose jobs. Now that the industry is finally making strides toward economic stability and creating a balance among the major U.S. carriers, the DOJ has moved to interrupt that progress.

“This industry is one of the most competitive in the global economy. The market share of a combined American–US Airways company would be roughly equivalent to the size of United and Delta. This is hardly anticompetitive.”

Now, where is USAPA's public response? Maybe they should say something also. Except for one minor detail, USAPA has already filed a limited objection to the merger.

If anything we should be united in the stupidity of Doug sending those emails.........he thought he was above it all.

No joke. Who could believe such just flat-out-infantile arrogance as was demonstrated there? "Business Casual" in action...No suit and tie or thought needed.

You just cannot read, nor apparently follow up on a previous gaff. The objections were filed in Judge Lane's court to protect our grievances and get Management to fess up to Regional plans, and other things. Call your Rep and ask. The filings were decidedly NOT against the merger, but you continue to morph into Munn with misleading words. At this point you are either really misinformed, or simply lying. By the way, the pilots of USAPA negotiated and ratified an MOU in support of the merger. We can always count on you to throw out the FUD. RR

The lost and pitful 10k ? Great anology because compared to what we gave up to a less than neutral CEO to make this happen. Well what can u take to your bank to cash now ?Courtney and FREAR are dead on! We should be United in the stupidity of even trying to deal with him! Stupid is as stupid does, can't wait for the details those 3 Parker minions cut with KOONTZ!

Quick, name the reasons it's Doug's fault why we don't have a JCBA these long 5 years......

Quick, name the single reason it's USAPA's fault why we don't have a JCBA these long 5 years........

Please show your factual work, and do not cheat using Mut's, Luv's & Claxon's "informed" dissertations......

A1: You side with management at every opportunity.
A2: You side with management at every opportunity.

I hope you are right about the emails. We may see some real ugly stuff if we find emails going to the APA. Remember, the orginal Term Sheet was carefully crafted to perfectly screw US Airways pilots. Kind of tough now for me to make the argument we got more by "talking." The result of both the hardline and business like approach has been a giant goose egg! RR

My comment regarding the limited objection was an aside. The thrust of my comment is that ALPA has come out with a cogent response to DOJ's near sighted decision while our union remains silent.

ALPA really said that! Wow!

I guess they still do represent a fair sized group of pilots directly affected by the merger, i.e. American Eagle, Piedmont and PSA.

It is one of the more enlightened and cogent press releases on the subject in the past two days.

Bravo, ALPA!

BTW Superhero, the USAPA filing was nothing more than a distraction. Waste of time and money. Concern over pissants while elephants are afoot.

First, the ALPA comments were a good thing. But I don't think they have the same issues our union now does. They are not a party to his merger, other than with Eagle. Do you really think we need a "this really sucks" message from USAPA? How about giving them a while to sort this out, talk to legal, look at options. I am told they are on the phone with Parker today. Maybe not. I actually saw an update from the PHX reps asking everyone to focus on the positive, same thing I told my wife. Do you really need an "opinion" from your union, right now, from the hip? Hunker down, we are in for a real haul here over the next 6-8 months. RR

So you think due diligence on legal matters is a waste, in hindsight? What a genius. I guess you bought a bunch of options on LCC a couple of days ago? RR
