Slavery was the law of the land.

And it was repealed. Legally.

Those assholes in Congress can't repeal the Affordable Care Act legally (at least not now), so they're throwing a tantrum.

What would the Republicans be saying if the Democrats were holding up the spending bill because assult weapons are legal, and the Dems don't like it? Would it be just as acceptable for the Dems to shut down the government over established law that they don't like but are unable to repeal?

both sides are trying to blame the other and both see the shutdown as the other sides doing.

Bottom line is while they are drawing lines in the sand you and I ..are being screwed.

Do you think that the reason the DOJ does not want any sort of discovery is because it would not stand the light of day? Maybe the DOJ solicited state attorneys to come out against the merger? Sounds paranoid but if you're not paranoid in this business then maybe you don't understand how it works.

They're using all legal options available to them under the Constitution to get what they want.

As a USAPA supporter I'd have thought you'd understand that.

I agree with 767 and Freighter. Whenever pragmatism is subordinated to ideology, at least in politics and union affairs, the results are often counter productive and sometimes destructive. I see similarities between the government drama and our own.

I left before the EU arrived with more Socialism. The leadership of the Iron Lady was more to my liking. That goes for Reagan as well.

I still visit with my friends in Lancashire, one who was waiting for heart surgery for more than a year in the 90's.

The union affairs which USAPA brought equates to "mob rule" and has and will continue to be challenged until the problem has been eliminated. Tyranny of the majority is an ideology which ultimately collapses due to a house divided and the inevitable civil war.

We don't need it, but I am of the opinion that a majority absolutely wants it.

There are a majority of greedy, entitlement voters that want the government to redistribute the wealth, a powerful elite that wants to be richer by skimming more, and enough guilt ridden idiots that want to console their conscience by giving back more because they "didn't build it".

I have read them all at least twice, but I don't have the documents memorized. I actually think you are a slacker, probably have not even read them yourself, but depending on forum postings elsewhere to act all up on everything. As to 194, Silver and Siegel "sitting in a tree".... and as to West Class status totally expected, not to your advantage in a losing situation. That would be your current status. In the future, if you are going to give the big slam down, at least take a step back and get your facts straight. Telling me I should have "known" what you meant is weak on so many levels. RR
