A little surprising:

British Airways said Tuesday it plans to begin flying nonstop between Austin and London Heathrow Airport in early March.

“We are very excited to be bringing British Airways to Austin,” said Sean Doyle, British Airways executive vice president for the Americas. “This new route presents an important opportunity for business growth across the Atlantic, particularly in the thriving technology sector.”

I predict that we will lose DFW-LHR business because of this--and not just AUS originating DFW-LHR business. BA still maintains standards that the rest of us have let slip (in the name of cutting costs). I wouldn't be at all surprised if a number of passengers all over start their LHR trips with a leg to AUS.
