they have to believe him in such an instance, due to what if it was true......hence the quarantining of the aircraft...

Not sure I follow the logic there. Any claim too outlandish or must all be believed? It's like negotiating with terrorists. Do it once and you'll be doing it forever.

Hope they had emptied the lavs today... and had a well-catered plane. I wonder if the CDC would let the plane be catered in some way?
From news article

Moore said the airline is providing the catering cart to try to make everyone comfortable.

I feel it makes no difference if we believe him or not they did what they had to do under the circumstances.
Right at the begining I said "some drunk" & I bet most of you did to.

And if someone would contract it on the plane, the ambulance chasers will have a field day. I know what you mean but things are different, most of the times not for good.

I stand corrected--just saw it. What kind of sick mind would do that if not really infected?

The kind of sick minded customer that management WANTS to attract with the product offered. This is the crowd that management WANTS to fly aboard USAirways today.

Does everyone see a pattern over here? Crewmember assaults, drunks, flexcuffs, etc.?

Since Doug and his team have allowed this airline to sink to all-time lows in terms of quality and customer service this is the type of passenger that we are attracting!

How is it possible that every story somehow ends up being Doug’s fault? Jokes about his sobriety have been beaten to death. I agree that our customer base has gone downhill. In the past two months I have been assaulted on the airplane twice. Tough cuffed a passenger, refused service to two passengers.
If we are going to provide service at Greyhound fares get used to it. This is the customer of the future. But I still go back to my original comment. How is this story out of CLT Doug’s fault?

You answered your own question. Not directly, but indirectly.

From the CDC.

Generally, direct and fairly prolonged face-to-face contact is required to spread smallpox from one person to another. Smallpox also can be spread through direct contact with infected bodily fluids or contaminated objects such as bedding or clothing. Rarely, smallpox has been spread by virus carried in the air in enclosed settings such as buildings, buses, and trains. Humans are the only natural hosts of variola. Smallpox is not known to be transmitted by insects or animals.

A person with smallpox is sometimes contagious with onset of fever (prodrome phase), but the person becomes most contagious with the onset of rash. At this stage the infected person is usually very sick and not able to move around in the community.

The likelihood someone actually has the ability to infect more than a few people is less than the likelihood you win the lottery, if you don't buy a ticket. It is more likely you will die in an auto accident from a drunken CEO. Jeez.
