What's new

Cabin Jumpseat Safety Policy

What I'm saying is, for those who can't meet the "new" requirement , they should be allowed a certain amount of time to meet those requirements before the company puts them on unpaid medical leave.

These folks have bills to pay.

The grocery bill? Outstanding accounts with Baskin Robbins and Krispy Creme?

That's rude. Some people just have a slow metabolism. Take for example, Star Jones...it took her to find a good husband to get her metabolism to speed up and lose weight. But, now, alas, I hear that she may be leaving Al Reynolds...and they always looked so in love...anyway, I hope things don't slow down and the weight comes back...still, it isn't her fault. She was born that way.

Lose weight = keep job = make the mortgage payment. There is an excuse for everything these days.

I checked out the Fit for US Challenge on the Hub and they have a pretty sweet deal with Ballys. I've been meaning to renew my membership and the price they're offering is pretty good especially since they have health clubs all over.

How about a mortgage? Is that funny?
No, it is not. And if you take a job that requires you to fulfill certain weight requirements then this should be considered before taking on the job. Again, take responsibility for your life.

Exactly so those that feel they need someone to help, US is trying to help. Do it for yourself! Hell, do it for your jumpseat mate.

Do it for laughs. It's not like US serves a lot of food on its flights. Stop eating the snack basket and instead watch the pax get fatter and fatter and then you can laugh at them like skinny people laugh at you.

There are no weight requirements for the job of f/a.

It is well established that someone drinking thousands of calories of alcoholic beverages (only) per day will lose weight.
Link please? If this is "well-established" then a link supporting what you are saying should be easy for you to find and post here.

You just keep telling yourself you are guaranteed to lose weight by eating enough MacDonald's apple pies calories to total less than your daily caloric use. I can then guarantee you will shortly be a blimp.
You are obviously going to believe what you want to believe, no matter what.

Good luck to you.

What is interesting about this is that they have decided it may not be safe if a f/a uses an extension on the jumpseat, yet at the same time are not prohibiting the use of extensions by passengers in the emergency exit rows.

I think they should ban extenders, period. But that's just me. If they want to start with the exit rows, I'll start writing letters.

WOW....... This forum is to funny. Why does the weight of a FA matter? I am more worried flying with the 60+ years of age FA. Oh by the way......... that 1960's hair is not in style.

I may be wrong but I think they are required for use by the passengers.

However, the company can restrict their use in the exit rows. I think Alaska and Frontier airlines restrict their use in the exit rows.
