INDUSTRIAL UNIONISM is about spending our money for CLASS STRUGGLE.

I've been a member of the TWU for 22 years and not once did the TWU ask the membership who we thought we should back at the ballot box. In the past the TWU has backed Clinton, Gephardt, Kerry, Edwards, Obama and local slates of mostly left leaning candidates but not ONCE did they ask myself or other members who we should endorse. They tell us who to support.

In 2008 the TWU gave candidate Edwards a huge check the very day before he dropped out of the race, then turned around and asked us to vote for Obama since he was now the TWU endorsed candidate.
Smart way to crap our money away boys.

TWU, Teamsters, it doesn't matter the label if they represent all sorts of different groups of labor their focus is on class struggle-Socialism.

In 2013 Jim Little bargained away our profit sharing. Did we get a say in that?
I believe an airline is more apt to return to profitability coming out of bankruptcy.
These INDUSTRIAL UNIONS DEAL BEHIND OUR BACKS AND THEN ASK US TO TRUST THEM!

The Teamsters currently have a representation drive going at USAirways. How good can they be our voice when their busy trying to be their voice at the same time? I assure you they will also want to expand into our other work groups too.

I DON"T TRUST THEM AND I DON'T BELIEVE YOU SHOULD EITHER!

Teamsters, TWU, both do contract negotiations behind closed doors without observers.
Their officers are not subject to recall by the membership. They don't live under the rules they negotiate and they don't feel the same pain we do when they negotiate a concessionary contract.

The industrial unions are very good at buying campaign busses and goodies and cheerleading real loud on class struggle issues. They like to parade around state capitals like roosters, "Look at me, look at me, braack, braack, look at me", but when it comes to aviation issues that affect you and me they don't seem to be so loud and proud.

All I ask is that you do your homework and check out all sides very carefully.

CAN WE AFFORD TO BE FOOLED AGAIN!

Getting the Teamsters will be akin to getting cancer.

Hard to get rid of, they will immesh themselves in all our workgroups and dare us to get rid of them. They will use one workgroup against another in order to maintain their position. Their proud of their background and IMHO their background is nothing to be proud of. Once we vote in the Teamsters were stuck with them. Ask the United boys or the Horizon boys how easy it is to rid yourself of Teamster cancer. Southwest AMT's were successful at riding themselves of Teamster cancer how many of them do you see standing in line to fill out Teamster cards?

Fact of the matter is it is hard to remove any industrial union and easy to remove AMFA.
AMFA is not one of the good ol' boys, meaning they don't worry about class-struggle issues like the others do. The others hate AMFA to the point of crossing their pickets to fly struck airlines and sending scabs to replace AMFA workers.
These organizations IMHO are not true unions. They are socialist with and agenda to socialize America.

The TWU was started by a Hungarian Communist and look up Michael Quill on the web or at the library to see about his associations with that lot. Don't go to the official TWU site as they are not very open about this truth. Speaking of the TWU website- at one time it had a web ring that led to socialist sites until I brought up my displeasure with such associations.

Former President Winipisinger of the IAM was a self avowed Socialist. I give him credit at least he was honest about it. Go ahead look it up.

The Teamsters were so corrupt that they are still watched closely by the U.S. government to this day.
I'm not making this stuff up.

Getting back to the main point, any of these "industrial unions" would bend over backwards to remove AMFA.
AMFA does not concern itself with class struggle or endorsing candidates without the permission of the membership and that is sacrilege to them.

The Teamsters will lead the membership around by its nose.
AMFA will not.

In short, if we vote in Teamsters-very hard to remove
if we vote in AMFA-pretty darn easy to remove as any industrial union would bend over backwards to take them out

Why do the other classifications hate AMFA with a passion?

Answer: There is more leverage with a craft than having large numbers.
If this were not true they would not give a hoot whether or not we went AMFA.

The Teamsters would be working on getting all the classes at one time.

If there were strength in numbers we would not have taken concessionary contract, after
concessionary contract after concessionary contract.

McDonald's and Walmart would pay wages people could live on.
They wouldn't dare brow beat you into skipping breaks or packing more than 12 hours worth of work
into 8 hours.

There workers would not be afraid to organize.
After all their work forces are enormous.

Why not have a craft union to represent our craft?

The other class and craft groups want us to be with them, because we can't be as easily replaced as they can.
Just like the Pilots, we are a big part of the operation. A&P's are needed as much as pilots.

The rampers/fuelers/stores clerks/etc.. all needed to run the daily operation but can be replaced easier. The FAA requirerments of a Lic. is what makes our class and craft stand out above the others. Just like every one has at one time done some electric/plumming/painting/carpentry/auto repair at home but no signature is required in a log book. Unless your house has a problem NO one will checkit. But having the FAA come behind and check the aircraft we can and will be held accountable.

The industrial union thinking was good in its day,(strength in numbers) I agree but we all see that here in the USA unions are becoming a thing of the past. We must adapt to those changes, and by creating a union, or signing on with one which will represent our class and craft is the way for us to GO.

What the other class and crafts need to understand is that, if it was required to battle the company any good union guy will stand by each other. Just like the craft unions do at a construction site. example electricians/plummers/bricklayers.

Many of us are in the finals yrs of our careers and to get fooled again by the IBT/TWU/IAM would do a disservice to those who will follow. Lets trade in the Ole way of thinking and forge a new.

A craft Union is what American and USAir Needs.
