INDUSTRIAL UNIONISM is about spending our money for CLASS STRUGGLE.
I've been a member of the TWU for 22 years and not once did the TWU ask the membership who we thought we should back at the ballot box. In the past the TWU has backed Clinton, Gephardt, Kerry, Edwards, Obama and local slates of mostly left leaning candidates but not ONCE did they ask myself or other members who we should endorse. They tell us who to support.
In 2008 the TWU gave candidate Edwards a huge check the very day before he dropped out of the race, then turned around and asked us to vote for Obama since he was now the TWU endorsed candidate.
Smart way to crap our money away boys.
TWU, Teamsters, it doesn't matter the label if they represent all sorts of different groups of labor their focus is on class struggle-Socialism.
In 2013 Jim Little bargained away our profit sharing. Did we get a say in that?
I believe an airline is more apt to return to profitability coming out of bankruptcy.
These INDUSTRIAL UNIONS DEAL BEHIND OUR BACKS AND THEN ASK US TO TRUST THEM!
The Teamsters currently have a representation drive going at USAirways. How good can they be our voice when their busy trying to be their voice at the same time? I assure you they will also want to expand into our other work groups too.
I DON"T TRUST THEM AND I DON'T BELIEVE YOU SHOULD EITHER!
Teamsters, TWU, both do contract negotiations behind closed doors without observers.
Their officers are not subject to recall by the membership. They don't live under the rules they negotiate and they don't feel the same pain we do when they negotiate a concessionary contract.
The industrial unions are very good at buying campaign busses and goodies and cheerleading real loud on class struggle issues. They like to parade around state capitals like roosters, "Look at me, look at me, braack, braack, look at me", but when it comes to aviation issues that affect you and me they don't seem to be so loud and proud.
All I ask is that you do your homework and check out all sides very carefully.
CAN WE AFFORD TO BE FOOLED AGAIN!
