Everyone knows that TWA was a much, better ailrline than AA ever will be. Why not agree and leave it at that?

AA is lucky to have TWA employees among it's rank and file!

It's called Personnel Preference! Here is an example for you:

If you work for AA, you probably think AA is the best. If you work for UAL, you probably think UAL is the best. If you work for SWA, you probably think SWA is the best. If you work for DAL, you probably think DAL is the best. If you work for NWA, you probably think NWA is the best. If you worked for the former, gone, never coming back TWA, you probably think the former, gone, never coming back TWA was the best.

Do you understand it now?

I don't think this person even worked for us, at least I hope not. I don't think he represents our spirit or memory very well.

I have to agree with you on that one. I think it's just a person who has nothing better to do then try and start crap between the AA and TWA people.

I have to admit that I did work for TWA. I will also admit that I have seen how poorly the TWA people have been treated by AA.

Amen to that. I think it is great that all airline employees have a high sense of pride and high regard for the company they work for even though the company may not be as perfect as it should. Nevertheless, I am glad that airlineman feels good about his former employeer but lets not get too personal and start behaving the our favourite airline is better than anything else since all companies especially AA and TWA has their fans and their critics.

But if you ask me for my personaly opinion I don't know what I would say about TWA since I never flew them but I have heard that their glory days were in the 70's but after that especially with the deregulated enviroment everything went down hill. In contrast AA was better managed at that point and therefore it was successful in the deregulated era and it still provides good service but not outstanding. However, I have been reading reviews about TWA before they were bought out and most of the reviews were criticising TWA's service and it seemed TWA was seen as a second rate airline compared to the bigger rivals yet TWA employees were great in making the best with what they had. I think all airline employees should share that type of spirit especially at times like these.

I flew TWA a lot before AA flew to Europe.

As you may have divined, I am not an AA flag waver, but TWA never came close to AA in cleanliness or service. Their planes and cabin crew were old and tired. Perhaps because they had already suffered under so much bad management.

Sometimes you can see the future by looking at the past.

I mean no criticism of TWA employees here, just the management. I have had TWA friends for decades, and was always glad I didn't work there.

Anyone remember Don Herrington or his son Neil?

TWA was a great airline until they sold out to Icahn, then it all went to hell. AA is a great airline now. AA didn't have as rich a history as TWA but is still not history. AA will have a history worth reading about yet to be written. AA is the best US airline with respect to CAL & DAL, I hope UA isn't history too.

TWA was absolutely and unquestionably better than AA!

AA will never even come close!
