Does anyone know for sure if it scheduled to merge FAA Certficates on the 27th of Sepetmeber? Lets get the damn thing done already so we can get to one airline and MOVE on...

DID YOU HEAR THAT?? THAT WOULD BE THE SOUND OF REASON. WHAT A REFRESHING THOUGHT INDEED!

I've said this before, but I'll throw it out again:

I'll bet that approximately 7 to 8 percent of the West Captains and FO's will go East because they commute or live out there. By the same token, I'll bet there is a like number (not percentage) of East pilots that live on the West coast that will change domiciles for quality of life.

Parker is holding your money hostage, and we as a group can convince him to pony up the $$. What say you? Or are you still going to expend valuable time and money trying to de-certify ALPA?

I don't think the cert. merger will change operations in any area. Until the crews have one contract there can be no sharing of aircraft.

That's correct. The single certificate will be unnoticable for pilots.

September of which year? 😛

Remember, after all, that Kirby was promising a single certificate by April (as in three months ago). Was he lying, or just incompetent?  😀

As soon as all the east fleets are migrated over to the Sceptre maintenance program (and the tons of wasted logbook paper it entails,) there should theoretically be no noticeable difference in how the east and west aircraft are operated.

I imagine the combined call sign will have to be implemented on that date, also. The last thing I heard months ago from Capt. Ed "Flex" Bular was that the decision was written in "heavy pencil" that "Cactus" would be the call sign. But I've not heard if that decision actually made it into indelible ink.

Does anyone know if it is in fact written anywhere?

If you cannot point out a memo (with a date,) a page in the convoluted Flight Ops Manual, or some other such authoritative WRITTEN guidance, please don't blow your hot air with what you THINK, or would LIKE, the answer to be.

Ok, you can ensure that you'll win your bet by putting your stats into an agreement of some sort. Maybe a grassroots movement to inspire solidarity.

Why did you not say this earlier. We believe you, so we do not have to get anything in writing.

Now just promise us that the bottom 2000 of us will not get furloughed after the UAL merger and let us all go to the promised land.

Wow, the FOM. Do you guys still use yours? Ours is impossible to comply with. When I asked about one thing that can't be complied with I was told; "Yea we know, we havent printed those yet. Don't worry about it, you're covered." Cool - the FOM is optional.

I have not seen anything in the west or combined FOM about cactus becoming the call sign. We will all find out in September, or whenever they actually merge the certificate.

Personally I don't care that much either way.

If it is cactus and that pisses you off, I suggest you do what one of our retirees used to do. He used the callsign "CatPiss". I never heard a controller notice the difference.

I hear tell that the FAA is not very happy with quite a few items and will start handing out some big speeding tickets fines.

There will be no certificate merger. Not even a peep about it from Tempe. They are trying to sell and get out and disolve the entire airline. East to UAL and West to NWA.

That's the beauty of BINDING ARBITRATION. My MC representatives signed documents on our behalf. We are legally obliged to accept the BINDING ARBITRATION. If I am not mistaken, so did yours.

Let's move on, Skippy. Time's a wastin' and Doug has your money and mine.

I think the single certificate is hiding right next to the f/a's pref.bidding package(to be put in place by June 2004), so the april 2007 doesn't seem like much. Or was AFA just lying or incompetent? :angry2:  :stupid:

God willing...
