Change of Control Award

It took a judge abrogating the CBA to permit outsourcing.

The IAM M&R never reached a deal with the company, after the judge abrogated, the membership, once again the MEMBERSHIP ratified it to permit the outsourning.

UAL was NOT in CH.11 when the IAM gave up overhauls, thus there was NO JUDGE.

This is the kind of quote that really irritates me.

" Airline industry conditions, and the situation at US Airways in particular, have deteriorated in the last year, and those conditions could be even worse when traditional bargaining begins. The America West-US Airways merger presented a unique opportunity to address many of the membership’s issues prior to the amendable dates in our agreements, and that window still exists, but the bargaining environment is changing daily."

What negotiator would make a statement like that. I don't need to hear, that you might think, the company might have the upper hand. Just help me believe that you know what ur doing and that you know how to do it. I and alot of people pay good money for that !!

Mike. again, 100% agreed. This kind of push over attitude is NO WAY to negotiate a contract. You and I should have a beer some time.

SECTION 6 FOR THE WEST! That will get their attention!

The IAM Gave it up?

I believe the IAM Membership voted to give it up and any company can decide to open and close facilities anytime they want.

At US they closed the TPA hangar in the middle of the night before thanksgiving and the work was moved to CLT and PIT.

How many HP mechanics are at San Salvador at Aeroman or How many HP mechanics at Timco overhauling your planes?

Does it come it close to the headcount at CLT and PIT heavy MTC?
[/quote

And how many east planes does Parker want to send there too? answer all he can. If i remember right you said our west fleet would be brought back in house and as you can tell they are not and most likely never return!

The West 757s are going to be going to PIT for overhaul and once the west is under the East CBA they have to abide by the scope language for overhaul.

Still waiting for an answer about how many HP AMTs are at Aeroman and Timco.

Hate to brake it to you but the west 757 are still being done at Timco, and Parker will hold out on the outsource for as long as he can! so I guess we will never get a transition done.

"I told you this day would come ,and thus it has … I know some of you on the east also believed that you would lose the COC , but I’m sure the actual losing still touches a nerve . To my fellow west workers , today the sun has broken through the storm clouds …While a major loss for our east brothers , it was in my view inevitable , and now with the change of control out of the way"

with you infinite wisdom I ask 1 question. WHY do you work for an airline throwing bags.

as far as the sun breaking through the storm clouds. unfortunately my friend I'm expecting it to be raining for a long time.

things ought to start getting interesting.

Yes I know , while the sun is now shining on the west , it’s pouring on the east .

To answer your question , I work here because I like working here , I enjoy the company of my co workers and I enjoy the freedom this job brings . I also know that soon we will be adequately compensated for our labors which have been undervalued for a good many years …

Yeah it was no surprise that if you lost the COC you guys would be down in the dumps , your angry , and your sad and your hurt . Your despair and rage will make a powerful bargaining tool …. Sorry but that’s just the cold truth from my point of view ..

Not crying over spilled milk here,

it went to the arbitrator thats what we wanted and the outcome was 50 50 . It's called a gamble but for alot of us easties the stakes

were to high not to go that route. But IF you think that a new t/a is going to fly now that the COC is gone . Might want to rethink it

cause that wasn't the only problem with the original t/a and my thought is 1 the company not going to back down there original demands and I don't see our NEG team having any juice to get any of the other b/s removed . SO looks like we will be waiting

for our sec 6 in 09..

There will be no waiting until 2009 , you can take THAT mentality and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine , we WILL move forward . I don’t care if we have to drag this company and our workforce through the mud , we will NOT wait any longer …

Freedom

If our negotiators had a mindset like this......

I don’t care if we have to drag this company and our workforce through the mud , we will NOT wait any longer …

In stead of like this..........

" The America West-US Airways merger presented a unique opportunity to address many of the membership’s issues prior to the amendable dates in our agreements, and that window still exists, but the bargaining environment is changing daily."

We just might have a chance at ur vision

Freedom the hubs are not going to vote in a T/A that they don't feel is acceptable
because you feel the need to bring the stations not under an agreement under an agreement.
It won't happen. If the T/A improves we'll see. If they offer that same P.O.S. as last time it
will not be accepted. These stations have just as much of a say as the non represented stations
and they have the votes.. and though your personal opinion may not sway how others would
vote it may have them question how they decide. Thats' what mentality is all about and your not
helping your own issue by your posts. Support your IAM and co-workers don't berate them, thier
all you have now............

* your also the one who was ''gonna party like a rock star'' when the T/A was being voted on and
told everyone it was a ''done deal''. You should add to the conversation not balk at it.

I agree with Freedom. Wait till 2009? and then on and on after that?! WTF!! People are going to be old, dead, and gone with that kind of action.

freedom
if memory serves me correct you had less than 50% show up for the first t/a party , and a lot of those

folks have probably already moved on to other jobs (60% percent turnover) . SO who's going to show and vote this time

remember if your on probation your not eligible to vote (90days of less) . SO once again . get PHL / CLT and a few other

key citys and you have game over. You might want to think about coming over to the dark side (meaning us disgruntled east)

cause standing alone in the desert isn't going to get you anywhere but maybe a sun burn (since the sun shining so brightly on you now)
