Yep, speaking as flight crew, welcome to our world. You haven't lived until you've jumped in a hotel bed only to find a wet spot (that niether you nor your significant other was responsible for). Ah the gamour of aviation.

Oh stop it!

If anyone WANTED to find out where our employees stay (for whatever nefarious reason you may have in mind,) it would be supremely easy to just watch which hotel van they got into. If someone was intent on doing harm, I doubt that they would come to the USAviation forum in search of big secrets that aren't secret at all.

Don't forget that the dirtiest thing in your hotel room is the remote control.

It would help to bring some of this.....

I brought a black light on a trip just to see for myself. The toilet area was one of the cleanest areas in my room. The bed(ding) area was the worst  , if you can believe that.
PS. Don't brush up against the walls if you can help it...

So now I find out NO BAR SOAP!

Wonder if the media would have a field day with this and make US looks like smucks!

Dude, most of our hotels are gross. In TLH i asked the manager to come up to check out the bathroom because of the poo running down the sides of the toilet. Think anyone cares? No
Think management cares that we can't even walk to get some toothpaste unless we cross a major highway? Safety is what management preaches at the airlines but greed is what motivates them.

sky high states: WHATEVER. Obviously You're NOT a crewmember who values their safety. sheesh, why dont we just post the SIDA codes here, it would be supremely easy to watch over one's shoulder at the gate. Or why NOT post the airports where CREWS dont go through SECURITY?
BIG SECRET---huh? You know, the PUBLIC doesnt have to know everything or be prevy to what should be regarded as private information in the company!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you know why AGENTS only have their FIRST NAME/LAST INITIALS on their name tags? FOR SECURITY REASONS. Some fell victim to passengers trying to find out where they live, get their phone numbers, etc.

So, NO---you stop it.

just stating opinions.

It has always been against my policy to give out my last name. If a customer wants my badge number, they can have it. That and I will not sit there and spell it for 50 million people who don't need to know.

SKY high states: On a layover years ago, someone, somehow got my name and got into my layover hotel. They knocked on my door very late at night. This was after a night out with my roommate. When I went to the door and checked through the peep-hole, I was shocked to see someone I recognized out that evening. I quietly returned to bed.

A terrorist isnt the only NUT out there wanting to know where crews layover.

Nobody gets gate codes by looking over my shoulder because I MAKE A POINT of shielding the code with my body position. Something that I think most of us remember from security training. It's only common sense. If you're not doing it, you are in violation of security policy.

Every agent at PHL has their first and last names on the PHL SIDA badge. In fact, the first name is CAPITALIZED. Security requirements there mandate that badge be visible between the neck and waist at all times. Every crew member at USAirways has their first name on the company ID.

And I reiterate that ANYONE who wishes to see where crewmembers stay need only watch them get in the hotel van.

If you want to play secret agent, be my guest. But your paranoia is getting old.
