CLT Local AFA Elections..... Who are these people running?

I giver a sXXt. That would just leave a spot open, just like now. They never filled the spot once Mike left. I asked them about it and was told those two could handle it. Doesn't seem to be the case. Just trying to catch you up to speed, so you will understand.

Just wondering if it is permitable for there to be two relatives to be elected to an officer position in the same union for the same airline?

Being a union representative is a thankless job. When you are put in that position you have to try to make as many good decisions as possible. You will never be able to please everyone. Period. You do the best for the masses and deal with the ramifications when you don't. Everyone, and I mean everyone can pick on every MEC Pres., LEC Officer in every base. There is no such thing as a perfect world when it comes to the union. It's members are as varied as it's officers. I think Mike is doing an OKAY job with the situation he has faced. I'm sure this goes against the norm of everyone else... So there, I've said it.

The question is:, "Could someone do a better Job". Maybe...Maybe not. This is who we have, and I stand behind him... Not because I agree with everything he's done. But because I believe in solidarity. Because it is the RIGHT thing to do.

"Could some one do a better job" you ask. Absolutely! Mike F. is an opportunist... a guy who ran for LECP, MECP and AFA International Pres, all within 2 years being in the union as an officer...and his wife now running for an officer position makes this judgement valid!

Yea, Stand behind a president... and I am sure you stand behind George Bush because "its the right thing to do. Regardless that he put us in a war by taking intelligence that deceived the entire Congress...$400 billion dollars later, 22,000 marines injured and 3,200 killed...its very important to stand behind a president. Constitutionally, one officer leaving does not trigger a new election for the position..even if it were LECP.

Candiates letters are coming out....this is going to be an interesting election. Just hope that CLT has a better turn out voting than PHL did. Everyone needs to VOTE!!!!

Now that's the truth. Carol needs to go!! Does she ever go out and fly a regular trip that she has to clean the plane? We definitly need solidarity and start standing up together and stop taking crap from the company and our union!!!!

Hold on, I'm still trying to think of something. No not yet. Hold on. From a RSV standpoint, I can't think of anything. I'm sure you will find a couple of people, but the majority are deadset against Ann being reelected. We did have a RSV committee, made up of about 10 RSV's, but we formed that ourselves, just to deal with our issues. Ann disbanded it, though. I just think Ann and Glenda need to come out here on line, bid a block some months and then RSV others, you know, get a taste of what is actually going on, and then maybe run at another time. That would probably serve of best. As for Cathy, I would be concerned about her leaving, just like Mike did. He was like the interum Pres. between Steve Hearn and Ann Crawley. Again, I would not have voted for him, had I known he was going to bail on CLT within a year. ABA

No, read my earlier post, Ann sent out the notice 19 hours before the meeting. As I said earlier, great notice if you don't want alot of people showing. I got the notice at 1515 on the 21st from Ann Crowley, CLT LECP, for an 1100 meeting on the 22nd. Not a great way to run our local office. It didn't surprise me that we got it that late. Some of my friends said the same thing. Any other questions? ABA

Bull, is it the choice of the local office to have someone else voted in? Are you saying that their is no way to put a third prson in there? I was told by Ann and Glenda, that they could do the work themselves, just the two of them. Is this a paid position? If so, what happens to the alloted money? The only time someone else can fill a position is when a newly elected resigns BEFORE starting the term of office. If they resign after the term commences, the constitution provides two local officers can run the local, unless the two officers request an new election to fill the vacancy.

simon56...there was a reserve committee with 9 of us on the committee. None of us were notified that we were being removed from the committee. Some leadership we have when the President does not notify us that we would no longer be on the committee and never told us why we were removed from the committee. So don't act all big and bad because you are not. You are also expendable.

I honestly don't know of any. Plus she is a little hysterical in my opinion. Put in the new people, they can't be worse and most likely will be better. Ann go back to work.

Got mine also. Any idea when Ann C. is going to have a meet the candidates meeting? It would be really sad if she didn't. Hopefully, she would not be that low in not having a meeting. It would go along way in showing her insecurities, if she didn't.

YEA!!!!! I received my ballot too! Already voted!!!!!! It states that you must put an X in the boxes or the vote will be voided so guess that means do not put a check in there by mistake. Would not want any votes voided on this election. So lets not take any risks into a vote being voided!!!!!!!!!!!!! So an X marks the spot!!!!! This is going to be an interesting election. Most of the candiates have put out letters and we definitely seem to have a qualified group of individuals who want to stand up to the plate. Lets get some new blood in office!!!!
