CLT Local is having a union meeting on the 30th of the month. The director of Crew Scheduling is suppose to be there to answer questions. Also there is to be a reserve section to this meeting where questions can be asked...

So, not just for Charlotte... but any Reserves and any base..... Got some questions you want answered??

Throw them out and I will pass along to the proper peeps.

(I'm sure it will only be a dog and pony in the end.... but you never know)

Thanks so much for the offer....I think the best thing about John Petronzi being there to answer questions about the RSV system is that his wife is a 20+ year F/A on RSV in PIT...he lives the system not only at work but at home when they call her at 0-dark-hundred.

good to know...
John is truly a nice guy---I think his hands are tied on a lot of issues though because the company doesn't want to change the RSV system...even though it doesn't work, it's so BAD that it's a good tool to for them to use against the F/A group in negotiations....just my opinion.

Certainly would be interesting to have a FFOCUS member to speak at the meeting in order to present the customer perspective.

Piney,

With all due respect..............Labor and "customer" are totally different arenas.

We need to fix our issues and "your's" will come at a different time.

For You Piney I would willingly give you first shot of a Surface -to-Air missle aimed at Team Tempe on the Rio Salado  I can't do it all........I'll be popping open the champagne, US1Y sloshing his Gin &Tonics, Travelpro serving hors' odeuvers and EMBFA spinning dance music. Art will more than likely be assembling the rest of FFOCUS and leading the song "BURN BABY BURN!". And this will be ONE drink Dougie will not be a part of  !

Union meetings are for the membership, for the union to process business and have company officials or union officials there for Q&A when necessary, not for the paying passenger.

I have a question for you.

What if the Hokey-Pokey IS what it's all about?

LOL it is..... sing the melody as you read this

You gave your pensionnnnnnnn up......

You gave your pay away......

You lost vacaaation

And they laugh the day away....

They made themselves some millions and didn't give you none

That's what it's all about!!!

Just to let people know, the meeting is from 1030 to 1400 in the B crewroom conference room. I know I will be there. There hands really are tied in respect to changing the rsv system. Everything has to be contractual. Do I feel RSV's were thrown under the bus? You bet I do. One of my questions will be about not putting Pref. Bid. With a follow-up question about, " If we voted on Pref. Bid, and you let that slide, what are you going to let slide with these neg.?" That should be a concern of everyone, BH or RSV. Sure, now they say Pref. Bid would be bad for us, but back when we were voting, they said it was a good thing for f/a's and would get more people off of 15 year rsv. I guess they said that just to get the vote. Another question will be about lack of productivity. I talked to a f/a who had worked 15 days so far this month and only had 46 hours. I guess the 57 minute 1-day doesn't help much. Anyone have more for me to bring up?

LOL.....Picturing a drunken dougweiser dancing to this with a beer in each hand!!

what perspective ? This is a meeting for f/a's and our union. We only need speak for us, but thanx!

We can all learn a great deal from each other is the reason. In this case it wouldn't be appropriate. But off airport at a fundraiser I for one think it's a great idea.

There are MANY things men and women of goodwill can do to aid Flight Attendents and much in the way of education you can provide us. Believe it or not, until I met Teddy years back I never fully understood how you get paid. So now when I'm on that last CLT-PHL segment and you are on your 13th hour on your feet for 5 or 6 hours of flight pay, maybe I remember to smile and say thank you when you bring my adult beverage. Maybe I empathize and say "Long Day" and smile.

Morale improvement starts one "Please" and one "Thank You" at a time. A & B cards start there as well.

Hope that clarifies my post a bit for you.

Piney,

I made a statement regarding your comment earlier and after reading others responses...........I agree with what perspective?

This meeting is about our scheduling of reserves/block holders....

i.e.

Why am I still on reserve after 15 years?
Why am I on duty up to 6 days a week for 24 hours without a break?
Why are the schedulers getting increasingly hostile with the flight attendants?....etc

This meeting has NOTHING to do with service, customers, airports, aircraft cleanliness, or any other aspect that concerns passangers.

This is an INTERNAL flight attendant issue and it is of NO ONE but the flight attendants business...not the pilots, rampers, caterers, and ESPECIALLY passengers.

What possibly would a passenger have to contribute???

I will hand it to CLT AFA for following the bylaws in holding a meeting before the AFA Annual BOD meeting. They gave notice to the members and allowed the people wanting to attend to bid accordingly. They extended an invite to John Petronzi who will be able to answer many many questions.
Now the question begs to be asked. PHL AFA Officers, what the hell are you going to do for us? Why is it CLT has this all lined up but we are left with wishes in one hand and crap in another? I am sure John, Grace or Dan call tell us why a meeting has not been set. Why we are being denied the ability to give the LECP direction for voting on the BOD Agenda Items and why we don't have John Petronzi as a guest speaker ourselves. Even if they tried now the schedules are already bid and the AFA BOD meeting is the first week or two of October. This is the representation PHL thinks they are worth? You Flight Attendants have been robbed of your voice and they are sitting back laughing. Even Laura Albert had the BALLS to hold a meeting and face the members. She did the minimum which is more than I can say for this administration.
Does the term Trojan Horse mean anything to people?

How about addressing what the heck is up with all those worthless Allnighters. With what they are paying, it isn't worth the trouble wasting my time putting on The Costume or making a run to Aeropuerto. Comprehende! And they need to RELAX the TIMES ON etb trips for RESERVES. Many BHs put stuff on the Board for the junior folks to pick up but that BS 1000/1800 nonsesnse interferes. IF YOU are OFF, You should be OFF. Period. (The junior people are carrying a financial burden like No OTHERS.......I don't want to fly 90hours but many times I can't get rid of the crap)
