What's new

Congressman Intros ‘Rangel Rule’

Tom Daschle decided not to run for President due to him having to disclose family finances. His wife Linda is a BIG TIME lobbyist in the airline industry. The fear back then was people would see the kinda money she got paid by large corporations like AA and freak out.

The whole Linda/Lobbyist issue never broke any laws and her business dealings are legitimate. It was a PR decision regarding how it would look and that if elected she'd have to stop being a lobbyist and be First Lady

Now it appears that he has real live skeletons in his closet as opposed to the PR skeletons of his wife.

Gotta LOVE Change.

Only thing I see changing is the party of those taking our change.
If it is indeed true, his name should be withdrawn. The same should have happened with Geitner.

Dontcha miss the old days of the Bush administration when the political scandals involved pages and toe-tapping in airports?

Update: Proposed name change !

The new bill being pushed now will be henceforth called " The Daschle/Geithner/Rangel Rule" !

This biil will allow any "TAX" paying american to pay any due taxes "Late" with no penalty or interest acrewd, as long as debt is settled within 20 years of initial due date !

This bill will also provide a provision to add names to the current bill name, " The Daschle/Geithner/Rangel Rule" !, as we foresee many other Hippocrats, getting caught, Err......................we mean coming out of the closet, Err....................... we mean coming forward !

 {Seal of Approval

I hear that all those who want to be in Obama's cabinet are purposely not filing their income tax this year hoping it would give them an edge on getting hired.

I remember some on this board were counting the days till O's inauguration. Now I know why.
Please explain how members of the congressional black caucus going on a junket has to do with Obama's inauguration.

That is a legislative branch ethics problem that should be dealt with swiftly...by the legislative branch.

The Executive Branch should condemn any such behavior from any members of congress, as it has done with the wall street executive bonuses.

Tech- I can recall prior to the inauguration that many were counting the days and looking forward to the new regime where everything will be better since Bush will be gone. Well, the big O is in and these scandals seem to be coming out of the woodwork. Sure it is a different branch of government but that didn't seem to stop people from tying Bush to all of the Republican scandals during his term.

I did not tie Bush to those he did not control. I also will not do that to our current President.

That said, I have no problem calling out lousy, corrupt politicians, be they Dems or Repubs.

Maybe that transparency thing is going to bite those who should have known better.

Have you seen the questionnaire that all who enter the Obama administration have to answer?

Take a look at this article.

Did you show it to Geithner, Daschle, Holder or Clinton???...Did I miss anybody???

Oh hell....I forgot....they're your guys from the Hippocrat Party....how short sighted of me.

Transparent administration looking the other way.....cut me a f'ing break.......

Where's New Hampshire Black Bears? Would like to get his un-biased opinion on the Hippocrat situation !

If all this is taking place within the 1st 30 days of Nobamas administration , can you imagine what we'll be talking about in 4 years !

I'll take your word on that but there many out there who blame Bush for everything that happened during his administration. Even for things where he had no control. If I had the time I could probably dig up some past posts for proof.

Here are some money figures in case anyone thinks Obama is not going after your wallet.

The Louisiana Purchase: $217,000,000,000.
The race to the Moon: $237,000,000,000.
The New Deal: $500,000,000,000.
The Iraq War: $597,000,000,000.
The Obama-Reid-Pelosi Porkfest Stimulus:$1,173,000,000,000

The farms in the area of the Louisiana Purchase produced $1.3 trillion worth of food last year.

Just saying . . .

How can Daschle/Geithner etc be so ignorant?

They knew the proctology exam was coming with a nomination and still didn't correct their past failure to pay taxes.

These guys got the bucks to pay a good CPA to watch over their stuff. You and I are simply at the mercy of the IRS.

Nancy Pelosi inserts $30mil of TARP money for hubby's pineapple biz, Obama is merely outraged at $20bil of TARP money going for banker bonuses (how about hanging those banking bastards instead?) etc etc etc and this administration is only two weeks old!

I'm going to start a KY jelly distribution business. :mf_boff:
