Crew members at AWA fly seperate... US together

Sounds like my old DC-9 trips. Sitting doesn't pay money. Flying does. Give me more legs then. There has to be a better way. I'm just saying, we should look into it. That's all.

sky high states: Mostly definitely. But......will they build trips to suit the flight attendants if and when they separate us from the pilots. I think the senior ma-ma's will agree that the me-too clause helped for many years because they were tied to the pilot's and FAR's. It's sad to think the F/A's now want to separate because compensation is so low that we now opt to fly MANY HOURS OVER what we should have to, to get a decent paycheck!!

Not sure what you mean, by we are flying more. That changed when the pilots gave up the duty rigs, for a no-furlough clause(which by the way, was given up during their neg.) In other words, it was a freebie to the company, but f/a's worked 3-4 more days a month, depending on your flying option, at the time. I don't mind working 19-20 days a month for 95-100 hours. That would be with no rig time, which is basically what we have now. I just don't want to be on-duty 26 days to get it.

Safety excuse is such a cop out. A doctor or nurse handle way more on longer hours in the ER. There's real safety issues then there's BS issues that are disguised. Keep it real.

I also do surgical rotations at the hospital monday through fridays. Fatigue and shortages are a serious problem there as well. What do you know about keeping it real...do you have experience in either flying or medicine?

Yesterday alone, I witnessed a sponge being left in, tucked way behind the uterus. In a another surgery, the chief intern almost snipped a ligament instead of a fallopian tube (for tubal ligation). Fatigue is a major factor in safety, whether it's one patient at a time or taking care of a planeful of people.

Why bring Bull into this. Haven't you ever worked a month with no rig time? And being on a higher option, it averaged to 5 per day. Sure, I'd love to go back to the 12 or 13 day, 90 hour months, but if you want to #### at someone for that, blame ALPA and AFA. I've stood next to many pilots and mostly what I heard was, "This sucks".

That would be great in a perfect world, but there are just not enough of those to go around.

And since we can drop down to 40 hours a month now, that means that I would only have to work less than two days in the whole month. Emergencies be damned!!!! I can do that!
Come to think of it...I have done a 24 hour duty before!!! Remember CRAF, roundtrip middle east flights? You've never seen a crankier group of flight attendants. OMG!
