Well, the latest announcement should put to rest any arguments about how Dougie does not like to outsource, and how he tried with all his might to stop the Republic deal with the 170's.
It seems to me its just more of the same. If anyone is still under the delusion that the 190 wont be replacement aircraft for the 73's this should open their eyes. Also, I would seriously doubt the 190 options will be exercised. The way they are planning to cram seats in the 175 it will be miserable for the pax, but the numbers will almost match the 190. This is what happens when you have accountants and politicians trying to run an airline. Then a year or two from now they will have no clue why our FF'ers have left, then they will turn around and blame labor again.
This leaderships track record on the West prior to, and now including the merger speaks for itself. US Airways will only be a franchise. Dont think for a second that they would not outsource the larger aircraft if they could, I am sure they are working on it however.
OK kool aid drinkers, lets here how you spin this one.
