Dear Red States

I want to know what makes Obama a socialist. We have been redistributing wealth upward for decades and no one has complained about that. Well, I guess the working stiffs have been but no one listens to us.

Also, in an election where it is winner take all (electoral college) how is it in the "Dear Blue" letter the republicans think they can change the rules and take bits and parts of states that they lost? I can see this being a viable option if we were to rid our selves of the archaic Electoral College but as this is the system we currently use, should that not be the same system usd to decide what stes are blue/red? I mean it is majority rule is it not? If red do not want to live in a blue state, they can leave and vice versa.

Excellent point man. The bank bailout is not socialistic? But I digress. ANY deviation from some bastardized version of Adam Smith "economics 101" mantra would be considered "soicalist" by the fundamentalists preaching the bare-knuckled capitalist system that worked so well for the non-producing pinstriped pinheads. You can't even have a discussion on trade policy with these zealots without being called a "protectionist" who wants to "build a wall around the USA" ( did I leave out any of the usual canards? )

Another shameless attempt at preemption is the trite "Class Warfare" cliche. I mean, the plutocrats wielded their axe and waged it so effectively the last 20 years...yet ANY discussion from ANY position that could be considered even remotely populist..and they're crying "class warfare". Like child phsychology...literally: The 1st, and/or loudest one that goes bawling to mom ( even he/she started the fight ) tries to get the psychological high ground. Much like the Mark Twain quote: A lie makes it halfway around the world before the truth even puts its boots on"

Then again, I think the plutocrats know their gravy train days are numbered, and are just trying to solidify their gains while they can.

I'm still waiting to hear why you think socialism is a bad word....

While I think it's adorable that you've swallowed whole the flawed concept that anything that the right doesn't agree with is automatically socialism, you do know that your candidate's housing plan is the very definition of it, right?

McCain's plan for the housing crisis.

That would be government ownership of private property, by the way...

You really need to do some research before you come on here. Picking your posts apart is all too easy.

It's known as wealth re-distribution and you may think your taxes won't rise, letting Bush tax cuts elapse is the same as raising you taxes, then giving that money to the 40% that DO NOT pay taxes is known as Socialism !

1. I own said company !
2. Your damn right I'm plan on making a profit !
3. You work for me, I pay you a wage !
4 If you don't like it, find another job or start your own company.............but don't forget, you won't be able to afford that extra employee ............Nobama's raising your taxes, so he can give it to the people who won't do either !

Said employee makes less and cannot contribute to economy ( multiply this mullion-fold so as to better represent the "trickle-down" approach... resulting in massive underemployement ) and bottom drops from demand. Said employer sees demand drop, forcing yet more downward pressure on compensation. Rinse & repeat. Of course the supply-siders can't see this, as they're simply not wired to see beyond their own dogma. What you REALLY mean ( supply-siders ) is: "YOU need to take a cut in pay so MY money will go further".

Demand side is where it's at. Supply-side is passe. John Maynard Keynes is God. Deliberate calling out of self-styled elitists intentional. ( as well as their useful idiot free-market fundie friends of all incomes ) Flame away yuppie maggots.................. ]

his tax cut plan is not going to work, the problem is focusing the tax increase and shifting solely
on the productive sector making over 250 thousand. how is it helping the middle class to tax job and capital creation? if companies/small business(all businesses) are taxed higher, the result is simply they pass along that increase to the employee/consumers by either increasing contribution to medical/benefits or laying off employees or increasing costs to absorb that additional tax or simply not hiring at all..in the long run more jobs will be lost and consumers pay more....redistributing taxes yet not addressing the gross over spending proposed to the budget(on top of everything that is currently being allocated) and the bail out, while expanding government spending will absolutely effect the same people he is proposing this middle class tax cut..because anyone should realize that the 'wealthy' people will always find a way to write off those taxes..or simply pass it along to someone else....the employee/consumer...
the only people who will benefit from his plan are those who pay ...nothing...

one example, when an employer shifts more of medical/dental insurance payments with an increase to the employee after that tax plan goes into effect with an additional increase... those people(middle class) will start to understand....he states tax cuts..but then fails to explain these companies will more than likely increase other contribution amounts.... any short term gain will be offset in the long term when other contributions are increased(medical/dental benefits will more than likely be the first place these companies start to increase when higher taxes are required to be paid) and everyone should realize that is what they will do. does anyone really think a company will pay higher taxes and then not increase contributions especially insurance? the main concern is the lost jobs, because some companies will absolutely be forced to do that under his plan of redistributing taxes...

this is yet another reason why it is imperative for individuals to protect their best interest by securing any gains(in the event of any offset due to that plan effecting other increases)... and secure those gains....in writing...

You didn't answer my question. Please try again, and stay on point.

Thanks.

So your all in favor of everyone living in the type of pink-houses, driving the same model of car and an xbox every house !

Who else is going to step in , besides the GOV. and keep these people, WHO shouldn't have bought that $400,000 house, on a $40,000 a year income, on the interest only plan? And don't blame all the #### hittin' the fan on the banks. Some times people need to take accoutability for their actions !

No matter what McCains plans are for these "Un-Responsible people are , I'm for less government , not more, which you will see when Nobama steps foot inside the White House.

Hold onto your wallets because Nobama and the Dems. will have their hands in your pockets , sooner or later !

And then you will see what socialism really means!

Absolutely not; I'm against conspicuous consumption, which I think the Xbox falls into.

Unlike you, I don't see socialism as a sign of the apocalypse; the capitalism is doing a fine job of destroying this country already.

And no, capitalism does NOT equal democracy.

You still haven't addressed the question; you throw around the "S" word, like it's the worst ever, yet your candidate's plan for the housing crisis is the very definition of socialism.

No matter what McCains plans are for these "Un-Responsible people are , I'm for less government , not more...

Good for you, and yet your candidate's plan for housing smacks of more government...

That's quite a dichotomy.

And then you will see what socialism really means!

If it means improved infrastructure, universal health care, a less imperialistic stance by our Gov't/military, then I'm all for it....

However, that's a moot point; all the independent studies I've seen show me paying *less* taxes under an Obama/Biden administration.

letting Bush tax cuts elapse is the same as raising you taxes, t

So then McCain is a socialist also? He was totally opposed to Bush's tax plan saying that it would prevent Congress from reducing taxes for the middle class. Of course, now McCain is for the tax plan because .... OH who knows why h is for or against something any more.

And like I said, we have been redistributing my wealth (or lack there of) to the rich for decades but no one seems to have been crying socialism then.

the problem with both candidates tax cut plan is simply over a 10 year period it will not raise enough to cover government costs...so much for social security! when tax cuts are put in place in a deficient economy and raise them later...the long term effect is the economy will end up worse off...and they know that....

believing either candidate at word of these tax cuts... at this point is simply gullible..

Please read Dignitys post, http://www.usaviation.com/forums/index.php?showuser=14891 !

Even if you don't pay more in taxes, Nobamas tax plan will still cost you. When the small bussineses end up paying more taxes , based on making $250,000 a year, guess where that tax burden will fall.....................on Joe Consumer, who will now have to pay more for goods and services, so in essence, your taxes ARE being raised !
