I am overwhelmed by the advertising that US has put out there touting the number one spot in ontime performance among the "big six hub and spoke carriers".
Couldn't one argue that WN operates a hub at MDW and LAS and, to an extent, BWI? They also carry about 50% MORE of the share of total passengers carried by all US airlines and operated 2.3 million flights compared to LCC's 939,000 (according to transtats page on BTS). And yet, WN managed to squeak out a half a point higher in on-time performance using the exact same metrics.
Really now...when will people realize that WN is not just that little carrier from TX with ugly brown planes??
On the upside, it is commendable that the employees at US have definitely done a great job at the overall operational improvements, so congrats to you all. My beef is more with how Tempe loves to spin the numbers. Anything to attract more kettles, I guess. But kettles don't buy based on BTS stats anyway. Maybe they figure they'll get some business travelers back.....
