Are we starting to think it might not happen at all, or until March with AMR being the acquirer?

The three relevant groups have decided. Usapa is an after thought.

If the east idiots vote down the MOU it will not stop the merger. The merger will still be announced, Parker will save the raises for the next 6-12 months. Wait for APA to become the bargaining agent and make a deal with them.

The new bargaining agent (what is it you have been saying) now can negotiate anything regardless of what the former CBA said. The APA accepts the Nicolau, places the us air pilots on their new contract and works towards an integrated, ratioed seniority list.

Parker cannot get the East pilots to give the change of control. He is blocked, again. As are the West pilots and the Nicolau. That is ancient history. 2007 Wake up boys, what year is it? Still no Nic. again

I noticed ALPA has made available the second book of ALPA history on their website.

I agree with you that the "banter" on the forums has reached a potentially dangerous level. Anonymity on the forums is in reality an illusion and depending on what one says it could come back to haunt them.

Having said that, I wonder what the availability and impact of the Internet would have on unionism and pilots back in 1980.

These two books are the best books availible about the unionization of pilots. In short, pilots CANNOT AND CAN NEVER BE unionized. Their competing interests are too great.

Republicans and now Democrats have abandoned organized labor including the new passage of right to work laws in more Northern states. It's only a matter of a few more years when the RLA will be gutted and the Airlines for America http://www.airlines.org/Pages/Home.aspx will hasten the competative nature of the markets reducing the leverage unions have (which isn't much anyway) in the future.

This forum actually is proof positive the nature of the profession has only seen the tip of the iceberg. Wait for it......

USAPA will not work with Parker. There is no way he should be at the top of AA. Wall Street feels the same. Parker needs the COC. He will never get it from USAPA
