First. Clax, we are on the same team. But you have to at least get the history right. I am asking here, but I believe the West already had a contribution, and that it was brought up a few percentage points by Parker to match our current 10%. There is a rub here, because Parker claimed for years he was bound by the CBA from moving any compensation forward, for either group. But he indeed favored the West on this one. Good for them, it did not come out of my "pie," I could care less what they get. Greeter

True that!, on the melt-down... either one of three things;
a) someone has a vicious two-day hangover... or
B) that Kubler-Ross psycho-babble may actually have some basis in reality... or
c) someone went to his accountant and the guy said something like: "You know how Fidelity has that green line that you follow? Just do this, this, and that, and you will be set for life as far as your retirement is concerned. Well you have just one year left, and you gave up HOW much money per year for the last five years in an attempt to stave off 'final and binding arbitration'? I'm sorry, Sir, there is nothing that we can do for you. Perhaps you could supplement your retirement with a part-time job at one of those 'fighter pilot for a day' schools or your local Walmart or something..." or
d) all of the above
Seriously though, I have two observations.
First, having spent significant time in the "belly of the beast"... namely the Flight Standards Dept, and having observed more than enough "difficulties" with the training and checking curriculum... it has been noted on more than one occasion, by more than one Check Airman, and interestingly, from both sides of this debacle; that, the "fighter pilot cadre" has experienced more than their fair share of difficulties with the instrument flying portion of the appendix F criteria. Thank God for AQP!!! We no longer have to weed out the weak ones. Also, don't put your hopes on CRM to save the day. I'll let you guess how Stan/Eval scored that one. Lot's of great individuals, but the "preferred candidate" is absolutely a commuter captain, who has demonstrated that he/she can fly six legs a day, in the soup, w/o an auto-pilot. 'Nuf said.
Second, I know a fair number of "bad dudes". These are the real deal "bad dudes". Men who have killed other men in a large variety of ways. I know a man who spent weeks at a time, deep in enemy territory, with only a spotter, a rifle and a few essentials, and returned to do it again and again. One shot, one kill. I know a man who hung out the side of a helicopter and killed a large number of human beings with a machine gun. I know a man who has dropped napalm on other humans. I know a man who has fired laser guided weapons on a variety of "targets", with the expected results. I met a man who shot down a MIG. The one thing that every single one of these true warriors had in common was that they did not originally tell me about their exploits. Someone else did. To a man, every authentic "bad dude" that I have ever met, has been reticent and extremely reluctant to share their experiences.
Know what I'm saying?

But since you are not a pilot at US Airways you would not have access to the west contract.
The only thing you got right was that ALPA negotiated our contract but it had nothing to do with the merger or east pilots or the transition agreement.
I've been very flexible Jake = 5-10K+, or as appropriate for the individual, or even just for fun. It's not about the money for me. You should well know that, given my stance on the nic BS these last five years. Terms of "victory" to be pre-set by the challenged person, by way of numer of aerial "engagements"....I honestly don't much know how much more generous I could get. Still...not so much as even ONE westie "Hero/Dire Wolf/whatever" seems up for it....all that's ever heard in response is completely childish BS.
Their own glorious Rep, Cactusboy, is equally aversive towards any meeting.....I think it must be a "West thing" 😉

You and I could likely work out the mutally agreeable details of any wager....but these westie punks just RUN, without even thinking otherwise! I've honestly NEVER before seen the likes of these people in my lifetime....It's like dealing with aliens from another world!...No sense of Honor...no evidence of any personal "pair"...just smarm...and ..well NOTHING! to determine them to even be PEOPLE, much less Pilots!
