So now one has to have been a volunteer to recall reps? Sport, not buying if. They have a job to do and they're not doing it. Not volunteering doesn't preclude me from scrutinizing their effectiveness.
Well, all airlines had a recall during negotiations and you do not have to be a volunteer.

In fact america west pilots took time out of their scabbing and pilot dui problems to have a recall.

News Release
February 14, 2002
America West Pilots Elect Union Leader, Prepare to Resume Contract Talks
PHOENIX — With the election of a new chairman and the re-appointment of a negotiating committee, the pilots of America West, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), are set to resume mediated contract negotiations with the airline in March.
The America West pilots’ union governing body, the Master Executive Council (MEC), voted unanimously yesterday to elect Captain Herb Holland as the union’s new chairman. Holland replaces Captain Roger Cox, who was recalled from office by the MEC in January.
"I am honored to serve my fellow pilots as we resume negotiations for a fair contract with America West," Captain Holland said. "With the outstanding team we have in place and the support of all America West pilots behind us, we are ready to return to the table to achieve a working agreement that recognizes the sacrifices the pilots have made to help our airline survive and succeed."
Holland, a former Marine Corps pilot and Vietnam combat veteran, has been with America West since 1990. Holland previously served as the union’s Grievance Committee chairman.
In addition, the MEC appointed Captains Kimble Neel, Doug Dotter, and Jeff O’Connell and First Officer Russ Payne to the union’s Negotiating Committee. Captain John Chesire will serve as an alternate member of the committee.
Negotiations between the pilots and America West began in February 2000 and their current contract became amendable on May 1, 2000. Beginning in May 2001, talks were conducted under the auspices of a federally appointed mediator but were postponed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
Including the 1,800 America West pilots, ALPA represents 64,000 pilots at 45 airlines in the United States and Canada.

The reason the ALPA recall was obvious. There was no secret agenda.

Perhaps the agenda for a recall now isn't so secret as some would imagine, but they are entitled to be silent about their agenda if they chose to be.

A good read re: First Officer Scott Theuer

Herb,
This is an open letter to you, so feel free to distribute it as you wish.
I'd like to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed our conversations in the past, appreciate
the perspective from the "West," and value your insight developed over your many
years of ALPA experience.
And it was a real pleasure to see you at our picketing event in PHL, and to see you
lead the long line of pilots as we did our march down the sidewalk in front of the
international ticket counters. Thank you for being there, and we need to do much
more of this type of "cross picketing" between our West and East pilot groups.
Indeed, last fall I did break off our discussions, and I would like to publicly state why.
As I told you then, in my view your constant and incessant attacks on your MEC,
regardless of who the current Reps might be, is damaging and destructive to all which
we are collectively trying to accomplish at the negotiating table.
As Jack Stephan said once to the East MEC..."what would Doug Parker most not want
to hear?" And the answer, hands down, is Union Solidarity. What, then, would Parker
most want to hear? Sadly, Herb, it would be the next edition of U-Turn.
As many will readily attest, I'm not easily led. Neither are you, and I respect that. But
today we are engaged in a battle, the results of which will have profound
consequences for the well being of both our pilot groups, and all of us in ALPA are
on the same side of that struggle.
I am convinced that your Reps, as ours, to a man, are doing their level best to achieve
our negotiating goals as set out by our JNC. Governance by democracy, especially
through a committee structure, is an imperfect process to be sure, but it beats the Hell
out of the alternative. What's most important, however, is that the players in this
process have only one motive, and that's doing what's best for the collective pilot
group, and in so doing building and strengthening our Union.
I believe we are there, and we will succeed.
My Regards,
Garland
CC: East and West MEC

East pilot rep to west mec new rep after a west recall.

Hey, I found another one, I will post it in the near future. west scabs, drug flyers, drunk flyers and franke boys, you reap what you sew.

Integrity is what it's all about...wow. I can't believe you said that Metroyet.
You've got issues son.
DCA319, of course you don't have to be a volunteer, now or previously to hold your reps feet to the fire. But, I was just wondering what kind of background and how many different shoes you've worn.
I have my answer.

Metroyet, need more time? I understand, scary world is it not?
there isn't enough time in the day to describe all of the USAPA scabs and detail their lack of integrity. Suffice it to say that one reaps what one sows...how's your career progressed?

Wow dude. You must be completely out of argument. The only thing you have left is posting vacation award?

It is obvious that you have no clue what that list was back in 2003.

Get a life.

Amazing how often the term "scab" is misused on this forum.
Metroyet, you and your friends need to read some labor history, AWA is listed...not AAA.

It'll all workout, don't be so toxic, relax.
If you still have your health, be thankful.
Don't sweat the small stuff, which you have little or no control over.

You have an empty soul...

Pot.....Kettle. Perhaps you should look a little more close to home. A RAY of light in the dark often will show CRIMInal activity.

Metroyet is one of the merry little band of Trans States rats that want to steal what they never earned. At all costs. It is rather fun watching them come unglued.
