Oh, lets not forget just how many ex CO guys from the texas air mess came to US back in the early 80s'

Fellow Pilots,

Today, your union ratified the MOU with 75% of the members voting to approve the agreement.

This is an historic vote. Should the merger of American Airlines and US Airways occur, your endorsement of this MOU now establishes a clear path forward for the pilots of US Airways, highlighted with $1.6 billion in economic improvements for you over the next six years. Of no less importance, your ratification also insures that your union will arrive at the merger as equal partners with APA in pay, benefits and working conditions – which is of paramount importance during any integration process.

Ten months ago when this process began, USAPA was relegated to the sidelines and ignored. Your union adopted an aggressive strategy and began working with other unions at US Airways to establish the Union Labor Coalition. We used an assertive communications and media approach, consulted with experts in mergers, visited Capitol Hill frequently, filed a legal motion in the American Airlines bankruptcy hearing and made our voice heard. As a result, your union was an equal participant in five-party negotiations that included the management of the two airlines, APA, USAPA and the UCC.

Perhaps most importantly, we learned how to work together, East and West, North and South, and with the leadership at APA. Our BPR, Negotiating Committee and Officers came together with one goal in mind – to achieve the best deal possible in a merger scenario for you and your families.

In the past, US Airways management has refused serious standalone negotiations with your union until seniority integration was resolved. Since management put that argument aside in the MOU negotiations, they can no longer use it as an excuse should the merger not occur.

The next step is finding out whether there will be a merger with American Airlines in bankruptcy. We expect that answer soon. If so, we will begin further negotiations with the parties to the MOU regarding the JCBA and finally, seniority integration.

PanAm To DL, Trump Shuttle to US.

In any case, if the US pilots with all of their vast levels of flight hours and experience would have had the edge in the application process. Plus they would have been on the street longer and would have had more job search time. AWA pilots with lower hours and piloting skill set may have had a harder time finding another flying job.

Unless CO would have merged with you. But by the time the CO people got a whiff of you guys they would have been SORRY to have got caught up in the mess that was dusty AWA.
That is just an ignorant statement.

You have no idea or data to compare flight hours or experience.

Well it appears that a fleeting moment of sanity gripped the east pilots.

MOU passed.

Now we wait for the various way certain no voter will try and get their way and mess this up.

Give it up. Let Cleardirect, Nic et al believe what they want.

We've bantered this around so much but everyone really knows the truth. It hasn't helped their argument so far.

Yeah, I know but sometimes when he is screaming it's fun to drag a branch on the cage.

Now, let's start arguing over the Nic again. Does the MOU cement it or bury it? I'm sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself. ;-)

Shows we have some sense of sanity within this group. As per our MO, we're more bark than bite and we can move on to other things. More than likely it'll be the McKee, Music, DiOrio show trying to recall Hummel and put McKee into office as President. Hopefully we'll avert that nonsense when the APA takes over as CBA. Time to watch the BPR follies.

Good. The recent elections had me worried. I'm glad to see the east pilots can seperate out the potential economic benefits of the MOU vs. trying to staple the west (I'm sure that comes next).

cleardirect,

Not nearly as ignorant as some of the jackass statements you've made! I'm sure there are many former AWA pilots that have just as many, if not more hours and experience.

But At US there are pilots with tons more seniority than those at sand flea airlines in general. So, take the statement for what it is, the US folks in general are far more experienced and have known what it was like to work for the best at one time. Was AWA ever the best at anything, ever? Just askin

Ok, I'm a little slow here. 3740 eligible voters, with 5000 pilots? What the hey?
