The US customer is smart, and more than likely has little regard for all the bells and whistles and fan fare of the BA or Emirates customer. In short the US customer just wants to get to destination safely, hopefully on time and with a little cash left over.

US is not trying to be all things to all people. Every employee at US understands this and will seldom argue about how wonderful our service is because we know ourselves and the nature of our customer. We provide the best service with what we have to work with and if the customer does not understand that then perhaps they should look for a new public conveyance from point A to B.
I understand what you are saying. US is fine for me to CLT, DCA, PHL or even PHX but much beyond that no way. You are right, you can't be all things to all people and looking at the markets US serves its understandable that they have the smallest premium cabin space.
