The place is shutdown until at least 6pm, possibly as late as 9pm. Made for some interesting go-arounds earlier.

BTW...you can't see more than about 50 feet with the dust and dirt in the air. We might be exceeding the new 4 hour rule today.

Current conditions:

Dust and Windy

67°F
(19°C) Humidity: 13 %
Wind Speed: W 40 G 51 MPH

Commuting home on SW tonight from STL, I heard that an a/c--possibly AE rj--had flipped over in the winds at Love Field. Anyone confirm/deny?

High winds knock out power, ground planes

Things weren't much better at Dallas Love Field, where an American Eagle plane taxiing to its gate around 1:45 p.m. ended up in the grass.

"We deplaned the passengers, put them on a bus, and took them to the terminal," Mr. Hotard said.

I would think they'd have pax comments, or reports of injuries if it had "flipped over". I'd imagine the real ride was exciting enough.

STL hasn't been much better. My back yard looks like a war zone. Roof over back patio is disintergrating as I write. Wind gusts reported between 50 and 60 miles per hour. We had quite a bit of damage from the ice storms and this has brought down additional compromised tree limbs. Enough! Dogs even went to the basement..lol

Perfect illustration why the plan to run the weather gauntlet of DFW and ORD to PEK was product of a handicapped mind.
