Looks like American Airlines and United Airlines Lawyers are being blamed for tampering with the jury witnesses in the trial of convicted Al-Qaeda terrorist Zacharias Moussaoui along with Carla Martin. What did AA's lawyers fear that made them so desparate to tamper with the trial witnesses's?

I wonder if AA and United still think that "lowest bidder" security is still "cost effective"?
Maybe if Dubya had read and shared his PEB(sp.) from August and September 2001 with the airlines and the FAA 9/11 would have been prevented.

In about 20 or 30 years we might find out want he or his people did or didn't share, until then it's just speculation about what was or wasn't shared.

I see Zacharias Moussaoui got his life spared by the jury. If AA's lawyers hadn't interfered in this case, would this P.O.S. Al-Qaeda terrorist got what he really deserved-THE DEATH PENALTY? Will this case now be used against American Airlines in court by the plaintiffs in the 9-11 lawsuits filed against AA and United?

I'm pro-captital punishment, but I can see the point of those who claimed that killing him would make him an Islamajihad Martyr, so maybe today's outcome was the right one.

Didn't Congress cap AA's and UA's liability at their insurance policy limits in the wake of September 11?

The only good Al-Qaeda terrorist is a DEAD Al-Qaeda terrorist. They should have executed him.

Several families opted out of the government's 9-11 liability fund in hopes of getting a better settlement in court. Those lawsuits should be going to trial pretty soon. If the plaintiffs win, it will more than likely put AA and United out of business.

Have patience, if he ever gets exposed to the general population in lock-up I suspect he will get his one way ticket to meet up with his seventy two virgins in short order!...

I'm a big proponent of the death penalty as well, but because of the martyr factor, wasn't too disappointed in the outcome.

To Moussaoui, death would have been a reward. Instead, he will rot in solitary confinement over 40-50 years, which is far worse.

He will spend 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, in an 11'x 7' soundproofed cell.

He will have the chance to exercise, also alone, in a concrete chamber for one hour a day.

Whenever he does leave his cell, Moussaoui will be in leg-irons and his hands will be cuffed behind his back.

Furniture in the cell, is made almost entirely of poured concrete.

It includes a concrete stool, desk and a bed, covered by a thin mattress.

There is a toilet and a shower in the room. The shower runs on a timer to prevent prisoners causing floods.

A small black-and-white TV in each cell shows closed-circuit classes in subjects such as anger management and literacy, and religious services of several denominations.

We prosecuted a delusional wannabe who appeared unmoored from reality and at best had a tangential involvement in the tragic events that unfolded on September 11, 2001, while at the same time the United States government has not put on trial Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and Ramzi Binalshibh, the masterminds and planners of these horrific terrorist acts, despite having had them in custody for the past three years.

As Hamlet said: “Something is rotten in the state...â€￾

Where does it actually say that AA and UAL attorneys tampered with witnesses in the Moussoui trial?

There were some news reports a few weeks ago that said that the idiot TSA lawyer who prepped witnesses in direct violation of the Judge's witness separation order (which all lawyers know are almost always issued in criminal cases) involved some lawyers for UAL and AMR as well in her illegal conferences.

Last I heard, she may be prosecuted. That would be a good message to the legal community. If you F with Judges' legal orders, you might have to do some time.

What I'm looking for is where it says AA an UAL lawyers directly spoke to wintesses in the Moussoui trial.
