What's new

Didn't take long

😱 I feel for you if you are in MTC. The station manager there is an idiot! I worked for him in PVD. I am one of the lucky ones, I got out of aviation

Well I guess even in a state of emergency if your late you get a occurrence. It never surprise's me when this management can't get it right.

It has to be the only company in the world that would pull this crap.

Report them to the authorities declaring the emergency. We had a local plant manager try this in Pa a few years ago. The workers reported him, he was terminated and ( I believe ) forced to pay a criminal fine with a suspended sentence by the local judge.

My roomie and I were based in PHL on 9/11. She was in DFW on her off-days, scheduled to come in for duty on the 11th. Obviously, we all know what happened. She had called scheduling to tell them where she was. They didn't care, they needed her in base by the 12th (they gave her a day) and that if she didn't report, we all knew what the "ramifications" were. For those that remember, it was virtually impossible, (car, train, bus, foot) for several days. Eventually it was dropped (she was furloughed), but not without a fight from the company.

Come on now , if you KNEW that there was going to be a state of emergency then you should have simply packed about a weeks worth of clothes and just camped out at work ... NO EXCUSES !!!

Complete and utter IGNORANCE.

it's obvious the poster has never experienced black ice , power outage for days on end

impassable roads trees on your house etc etc.

This new policy will definitely be interesting to say the least. We had a large semi truck hauling dirt overturn at the traffic light entrance to the employee parking lot at about 730 this morning spilling its load and blocking traffic (there is only 1 entrance into the parking lot). It was still being worked after noon. Police had one thru lane and the turn lane into the parking lot blocked off in one direction causing a backup for several miles for most of the morning. Of course, there were several agents who were anywhere from 1 to 25 minutes late because they were stuck in traffic and then had to ride the shoulder to get into the entrance to the parking lot. Advised it will be an occurance. Sad part is management (one of the managers was late this morning as well, but we all know they dont clock in) and admin knew at 8am that there was a problem AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE EMPLOYEE PARKING LOT, yet no one made any effort to alert those who were scheduled to come in to work later in the day until around noon and then it was a union rep who called those scheduled to come in later and advise them. I realize that management/admin is not responsible for traffic updates, but when it blocks the only entrance to the employees parking lot, a little common courtesy would go a long way. I guess its easier to just say you should leave your house hours early every day just in case?

The memo that came out with the "adjustments" state that management should be using discretion. File a grievance pronto!! Eveyone needs to file...spread the word.

Oh....forgot to say thanks to Velvet....yep, has been quiet V but I would not get to comfortable yet.
