DL Pulls Ads from 'Daily Show'

Good move Delta and shows good business sense ! Totally agree with a company not wanting their name and reputation associated with a show like Daily and especially with pics like this ! Of course being a Liberal Kev..............anything goes............right ?

I'm not against our company objecting to the picture itself; I'm against them siding with someone (Donohue) who's overt agenda-and it goes far beyond the Daily Show skit- conflicts with so many of DL's employees- not to mention the inclusive values the company claims to embrace.

I wouldn't go so far to say that the overt liberal biased daily show is "inclusive" of others values. They constantly ridicule others who are not in lock step with there agenda.

Wasnt it also the liberal left who rained down a scorched earth campaign on Rush L., over a slut remark?

Reeks of double standard.

The Daily Show clearly skews left; that shouldn't surprise anyone here. The show's values (if a TV show can actually have them) weren't what I was referring, though. It was Donohue's, and how they run counter to many of those at the company. IMO, the company's capitulation to him runs counter to many of the ideals they repeatedly claim to embrace. By doing so, they at least tacitly demonstrate a difference between theory espoused and theory in use.

Im not convinced that a single person like yourself can speak on the behalf of how many thousands of employees at DAL?

I'm inclined to think those that have a problem with it are devout liberal atheists who speak of empathy and inclusiveness, for only those that shares their views. Everyone else is exempt.

"Im not convinced that a single person like yourself can speak on the behalf of how many thousands of employees at DAL? "

Nor should you be, since I never claimed to.

Exactly where did you read or hear that Delta sided with Donohue ? All I read about the reason DL removed advertising was :

"Delta acknowledged that the "vagina manger" was behind their decision to pull advertising on their Facebook page yesterday."

Sounds to me like someones trying to make an issue out of a non-issue !

Donohue has made a habit of running boycott campaigns. I'm sure that certainly played into the company's decision.

No ginning up controversy here; I'm just weighing in on what someone else posted.

I like the "Daily Show," but that was waaaay over the line. Having said that, Donohue is a league of one person and often comes off like a raving lunatic. I think it more likely Delta was not influenced by him and made their own decision. He is just latching in to gain publicity. He has been a publicity hound for years. All that being said, I think Delta made the right call.
