What's new

dl142 was to meet w/ the company yesterday...

You know you are being played by the company and you fall right into their trap.

You don't even realize they are playing you and turning you against the IAM and against yourself and dividing you and making your bargaining position weaker.

You all need to wake up and smell the coffee, blame the company, they are the ones who do not want to settle and give you a better deal, when will you all realize this?
700,
I hear what you are saying, but it would be nice to take a peek at the so called "discussion document".

Call your General Chair and ask.

And from the chapter 11 negotiations, that is exactly how the company negotiated last time, if you want to call it negotiations.

They never ever moved off thier first proposal until the CBA was abrogated.

I called him. He told me that they weren't going to post it. He basically told me that we were on a need to know basis and that we didn't need to know every detail of the negotiations. This is what the GC(Frank S) told me. NOw.... who is turning who against whom?

have 10 to 20 m&r sitting in on the talks. Then the rank and file would know what is going on, and would relate it to the rest of us.

Which ever side balks at the idea is the liar.

The US AIRWAYS Management Negotiator's OFFERED M & R A COST NEUTRAL OFFER,They Also Stated they Beleave We Will Loose OUR ARBITRATION Snap Back. Well The FAT LADY has Not STARTED SINGING YET.
We NEED TO C/W LABOR NEUTRAL AGGREEMENT'S.
BY THE BOOK.

They also thought the IAM would lose the Airbus Arbitration and we won it.

The same arbiter is hearing the case and has ruled in the union's favor several times.

And the company is scared, that is why they got the CWA to drop their grievance for the recognition of the CWA/IBT Alliance.

IAM doesn't publically negotiate through the rank and file dude...never have, never will.

Frank is right.....they start letting out snippets and next thing you know everyone on the floor is pissing and moaning to everyone(without knowing the whole story) including management and suddenly your position on that snippet just got weakened. It complicates the negotiation process and violates confidentiality between the parties.
Get used to it.You don't need to know every detail but Frank will talk to you if you give him the time of day.

I see some still crying over certain provisions of the IAM piece of crap contract...you guys make me laugh :mf_boff:

Dell,
Don't really see much to laugh about concerning the contract..
Especially the IAM's handling of the Force Majeur issue.[Unless you were working in PIT at the time].

Every Union in the airline industry lost their FM grievances, yes it was handled wrong by PIT while the rest of the system wetn by the CBA, Frank and Bill were having "secret" conference calls with the company, making deals and not informing the other AGCs and the International.

700,
It's still not too late for the IAM to make it right...

There is no way too make it right, it is five years ago, move on all ready, does not accomplish anything.

There were steps put in place by the International to prevent anyone making secret deals.

I'm glad there were "steps" made to keep this kind of B.S. from happening again.

What do you mean there is no way to make it right ??
All it would take is someone with a little integrity to step up and even it out...
Move on already ? Typical, a little time has passed, Let's just sweep it under the rug....

Once again I will ask you, how do you think the IAM should make it right?

It was not swept under the rug, Roach made it crystal clear that type of renegade behavior will not ever be tolerated again.

What does it accomplish to keep bringing it up?

There are more important issues at hand then a five year old FM issue.

I wonder if you would have the same attitude if it was YOUR ### sitting out of work for 3 weeks while your Union Brothers in PIT were back at work...

I believe that you are smart enough to figure out what the right thing the IAM should do...

I was not FMed, but many of my coworkers were.

For the third time, what do you suggest they do?

Time to put up or shut up.

And the IAM will not reimburse you for a grievance that was lost, if that is what you are hinting at.
