What's new

dl142 was to meet w/ the company yesterday...

I was not FMed, but many of my coworkers were.

For the third time, what do you suggest they do?

Time to put up or shut up.

And the IAM will not reimburse you for a grievance that was lost, if that is what you are hinting at.
Put Up or Shut Up ???
This Grievance was NOT lost..It was voted away by the membership when the IAM decided to re-vote the companies final offer.
There is NOTHING standing in the way of the IAM from making this right.

For the FOURTH time, what do you suggest?

They cannot pay dues money to members for them being Forced Majured.

Second, EVERY union in the industry lost their FM grievance when they went to arbitration.

700,700,
The issue here is NOT about the FM Grievance..

The issue, as you well know, is that the AGC's in Pit and the AGC's in CLT did NOT handle this situation in the same manner...

This is a UNION screw-up that has not been addressed.
A REAL union would of stepped up to the plate and made it right..Instead of making lame excuses...

The AGC in PIT situation was addressed but as long as the membership keeps him in office they are stuck with him.

The two in CLT handled it per the contract, the AGC and Local Lodge President in PIT made their little secret side deals.

Roach addressed it and held a meeting in DC to make sure it does not happen again.

IF this is indeed the case, Roach did not go far enough...
This is the first I've heard about a meeting in DC...

Roach should of required the AGC in PIT, that made his sweetheart deal with the company, take a trip to CLT and explain way he thinks the union members in PIT deserve special treatment over union members in CLT...

He has been to CLT at union meeting's since the FM issue, no one even brought it up.

There was a meeting and they were told, no private conference calls regarding issues and every AGC was to be on the call and no secret deals.

Are we talking about B.F. or F.S. ?
I would be interested in discussing this matter with this fine upstanding union rep.

700?, 700?.....Are you going to allow me the last word ???? 700 ??
I'm just asking for a fact....What's that cute little line you always say?
Don't let the Facts get in your Way...?

Dell,
Don't really see much to laugh about concerning the contract..
Especially the IAM's handling of the Force Majeur issue.[Unless you were working in PIT at the time].
I was an Inspector 411J at the time...was out of work about 24hours.Frank got everyone in Pit back on the job...as for other stations...it didn't work that way.
Maybe they should have let PIT run with it. 😉

Yep 89...looks like in PIT it was handled as a union should. Those whiny mouths out of CLT didn't have the stones to threaten the company with a walkout like Frank and Bill....instead to this day they point fingers and infer secret deals for their lack of balls and getting caught with their pants down.CLT did not respond PIT did.
No secret deals...just bold in your face threats and it got our members back on the job getting paid.WHATS WRONG WITH THAT? CLT let their members down.Thats it.

Hey Dell,
You ask, WHATS WRONG WITH THAT ?

Just how many unions represent mechanics and related at Usair ? What do we have here ?? IAM North [PIT] and IAM South [CLT]???

Do the members in PIT pay more in dues money ?

Those "whiny" mouths you speak of are "supposed" to represent the members the SAME WAY as PIT...and visa versa.

Where in the IAM constitution does it say that it is OK to represent members DIFFERENTLY because they merely live in a different city ?

And you ask, WHATS WRONG WITH THAT ???

Yes it was BF and FS.

And CLT adhered to the CBA, PIT made a secret deal and did not inform, Tony, Tommy or Steve on what transpired.

This is what went down with the secret deal....

Frank and Bill told them get our guys back or we're walking....period.

FM provisions allow the company leeway to reduce ops but not to violate seniority provisions in the contract as far as I know.I was on the street and some smack with less Inspection and IAM time was working on 3rd shift in my dept.So hows that fair? Obviously 2 wrongs don't make a right.Frank and Bill reacted....yeah,prob shoulda got everyone on board...but CLT sat back and let it go down like it did.....and its PIT's fault your boys didn't pick up the ball?

Ever think ,instead of getting PO'd at PIT at the time, why didn't your boys down there jump on the bandwagon and demand what PIT did?
Why didn't they tell CLT get our guys back or else???
No No...they did it by the book....maybe a little radicalism at CLT woulda helped save some jobs.
WTF, you guys always were the bastard children in the system as far as radical moves during most co/union activities...why then did your radical leaders drop the ball?(you know we up here kinda looked up to your guys for your radical committment)
OR DID THEY CUT SOME SUCK BUTT DEAL?
You know I get tired of hearing the CLT by the book bullshit....You guys down there were doing the aluminum suppository thing when IAM Int'l said not to and we had AC sent up for heavy sheetmetal because you wouldn't work it.
And all we were doing was obiding by an Int'l decree and we were jackoffs for doing that.So I guess 'yall get what ya pay for 😉

The ole southern boy club. Their ways of the world, mannerisms and general outlook were too much for a Pit mechanic who moved down CLT, so he retired.

Since he had a Charlotte address [required] he was able to get hired on at NASCAR. He now makes more then being a mechanic at U and is happier as he always wanted to do just what he is doing thanks to the southern gang: and in his words [couldn't stand working around those red necks any longer]. True story, I love it. Merry Christmas to the necks. 😛

Says HEY NOW,ALL YINZ GOOBERS 😉

The happy Goober says howdy

First of all the International did not have an edict to not work by the book.

I was at a meeting with Roach and his staff in CLT and they told us to work by the book.

You're boys Frankie and Billie were worried about PIT being shutdown so they took it upon themselves not to participate.

The boys in CLT showed the company they could not get away with farming out our work without repercussions.

And regard to the FM situation, why were Billie and Frankie having private conference calls with the company and not informing the other AGCs, the District and the International?

The union does not call people back and layoff others, yet Frankie and Billie were doing the very thing?

Why did Roach call them all to DC and forbide Bill and a local lodge President for doing what they did?

Why did Roach tell Bill expilictly not to hold private calls with the company?

You can portray it anyone you want but they overstepped the line and did the system wrong.
