What's new

dl142 was to meet w/ the company yesterday...

Hope you feel better now Inspector Gadget and got it all out of your system with those ops checks via these boards 😛
No, MR "IAM"
It ain't out of my system...Seems like you are one of the members that likes the way this union is presently run..Substandard..You one of the inside buddies ?
OOPS, You just failed your OPS. CK.
Do it again, Call me when you get it right...

Roach has nothing to do with District Bylaws, that would be the District and if you are so concerned about it, why have you not submitted a proposal at your union meeting to send a bylaw change to the District Convention?

See Roach works for the International not the District.
Well, thank you 700, I will do just that..

My question to you,is why aren't you "so" concerned about it ?
Unless you are gunning for one of those "insulated" AGC jobs? Maybe you like it the way it is, No accountability to the membership ?

Don't know for sure, but they just might need a upstanding candidate for AGC at the cigarette factory ?

Why dont you go ask the former US mechanics who started out at $27 an hour when leaving US and will go up to $33 in one year about it.

And I can post on any topic I feel like, if you have a problem with it then dont read my posts.

And it has been five years and you are just now wondering about a bylaw change?

Seems to me you would just rather complain then try to make a change.

All I can tell you is on a Sunday morning around 11 am I was told from my Inspection dept manager that "My services were no longer required"...verbatim.I had all kinds of questions and he couldn't answer them....we had dept 435 full of friggin newbies and I wanted to know why I was being layed off....no answer...finally he let it out that he was only doing what he was told.I called 435 Inspection and told Coveny what was going down....Then sometime down the road Frank and company started getting inundated with calls.

If PIT could threaten and get its people back over a two week period...where the heck were your guys in CLT at the time and why couldn't they get their people back? And don't give me any this by the book horsecrap....dude if it worked in PIT with U management...why didn't it work in CLT? Key player here in the middle of CLT/PIT is U management.......kinda looks like they played two cities as suckers....divide and conquer? looks to me like they played us out good.

Looks to me like it worked....5 years down the road and we're still at each others throats.

One engine dept management between two cities(LeBeau)-one gets back to work, one doesn't...both cities know it too.Hmmmm,interesting.

Pit local did what they thought was right at the time...yeah,they probably should have coordinated together.
What would you have done when its hitting the fan all around and people are screaming at you to do something....it ain't an easy job representing people.Never satisfy everyone, thats a fact. Its even easier second guessing.

Have a nice Christmas Day,89
Dell,
Thats the same thing that happened down here in CLT. The members that were FM'd were told "Our services were no longer Required".

I realize that it is not an easy job representing a bunch of aircraft mechanics, but there is NO excuse for handling one city different from another...I hardly call this second guessing..

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you, Dell

But who handled it?

To me the common denominator here is Engine management and two different approaches in two cities.

Wasn't LeBeau the man in engines then?
Why let PIT back and not CLT.I can't totally find fault with the union here...some yes but not total.

I really don't have the right answer as nobody probably does.700uw has his view, you and I have ours.....In the end it wasn't right that your guys didn't get back.
So who do we really blame then? Both sides?
I still say we were management patsy's...and we would have won the grievance....but you know the rest of the story.

Take care 😉

Won the grievance?

Do you know every union in the industry lost their FM Arbitrations?

No one won.

700,

I personally know some of the mechanic's that work over there, I'm all for them...I thought about applying over there myself. Still might, Who knows...

Who said that you could'nt post on any topic you like?
Please, Please, Post away...You're very entertaining.

If you went to the trouble to read some of my posts, I'm not just NOW all of a sudden wondering about a Bylaw Change. I just do not know exactly how to go about it..
I will take your suggestion of applying for a Bylaw change at the local union meeting in consideration, but I believe it will have to start at a higher level than that.

Yes, you will continue to hear me "complain" as long as we have substandard representation over here at USAIR.

Is the IAM AGC situation set up the same way at the cigarette factory ? How does it work over there ?

They have a business rep, not a GC.

And there is a call put out once a year several months before the District Convention about any proposed bylaw changes.

You write it, bring it before the local lodge membership at the scheduled meeting when the bylaw change proposals will be on the agenda, the membership votes on it and if approved goes to the convention, you also should politic with other locals to get as many onboard for the change.

Just contact Bill Wise or John Hall, they should know when the proposed changes are suppose to be submitted by.

You must have forgotten I am a former RS of the local.

Let me clarify:

Every union in the industry, which means at all the airlines that FMed people the respective unions filed grievances it went to arbitration and all the unions lost and the airlines prevailed.

No, MR "IAM"

Actually I work for GE these days at the same time collecting a pension each and every month for the rest of my life thanks to what you call the morons who run the IAM. I appreciate the IAM. I am reminded monthly what they did for me when my check arrives. So blast away with your insults. Hell, I work with guys who had three times the time I had in under different unions and they are lucky if they are getting anything and the ones that are receiving a check get a hell of a lot less than what the IAM provided me and it’s retirees, even AFTER corporate America tried raping everyone. So sniffle all you want, it only makes you look like what you are, a cry baby in a man clothes.

Dell,

What does it matter, the every airline union that filed a FM grievance at any carrier lost, that too hard to understand?

Why would US be any differant?

FM lets the company bypass the CBA.

Well,Well Mr. IAM
Congratulations to You and your pension....

Now, Take your IAM blinders off for a minute a tell me that you do not see anything wrong with the way the IAM elects their officers at USAIR.

Wait a minute, You didn't even mention if you ever worked for USAIR..Have You ?
Or are you just running your mouth about something you know nothing about ??
You wanna talk about my pension that is NOW frozen ??
Did you ever have to go thru bankruptcy proceedings with your company ??
Go ahead "big man" let's hear your superior story...
