DL's 777's.

First things first: The 2007 USA-China awards are for existing China incumbents, meaning that DL is ineligible. But for 2008, the DOT may designate a new carrier. So it's two years (at the least) before DL can fly to China, unless the treaty is amended.

As to DL's 777s: They use the same Trent 892s as do AA's 777s, so they could make it from ATL to China, although with less freight, IIRC. During the 2004-05 Docket proceedings, each airline estimated their cargo capacity, and AA estimated more cargo each way than did DL.

<_< Bear---- Just a little side note here. I hear aa is negotiating with Hawaiian Airlines to do four ex Delta 767 "C" checks, and bridging mods, for here at MCI. We'll have to see what turns-up! B)
