Do You Remember

Graffiti:

The name “Hakeemâ€￾ in the 1L door jambs.

Gimp and Limp inside the ACARS door on the 9.

PI Speedbirds everywhere (probably from northerners).

Walls in the PIT Crew Room men’s room getting painted black at one point.

How about "OOT SUCKS" everywhere in the planes?

OOT SUXS everywhere!

Dirty pics in the logbook, in the escape rope hatches and under the DC-9 caps.

I opened up a MED in O/H one time and inside where the door latch mechanism lived...there it was...

OOT SUCKS

Remember the " MIDNIGHT FLYER "

It was on the PSA sked I think only on FRi/Sun....From Lax to Sfo....

It was first come first serve. People from all walks of life stood in line for a couple of hrs to buy a tkt for i think $8.75 one way. All kinds of music in the

gate area for those flts because alot of people travelled with instruments..

I remember loading the remainder of the seats that didn't sell with mail because the cargo bins were full....

I'm sure there are some "Flyer" stories out there.

Or even checking in for our trips via the telephone in the crewroom and hearing the pleasant automated voice telling us to "have a pleasant trip? Or something like that.

Or Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" playing endlessly while you were on hold for scheduling.

Long before computer-based training, the answers to the latest pilots' winterization exam scribbled on the tile above the urinals.

I've been trying to fing some pix of the trial "tiger stripe" livery that some of the DC-9s were painted in before the Red, White and Blue paint scheme, but can't find any.

Red, Orange & Blue seat covers on the 400's
Decent headsets - especially the first non-stethascope ones that were grey/metal with big foam.
A full meal in Y on the red-eye
The snack box in Y on the red-eye
Juice/Water service on the red-eye
The "crew lounge" on the 757 red-eye during the winter.
Only having 1/2 of Terminal B in PHL.

Who had the other half?

Who had the other half?

TWA had the odd gates: The half that faced C and the outer end of the hammer head. AL/US had the even ones: the side facing A. US then got all but the outer end on the hammer head, which were all wide-body capable until TWA moved to E.

Don't forget that Mexicana also went out of B con with their departures. I want to say B-7, but can't remember. The inbound flights parked at the old overseas terminal on Island Ave.

Speaking of the old overseas terminal, who remembers having to cross the runway when running bags for Air France out of the old overseas terminal. It only ran like once a week, but the bags would pile up in the transfer room next to B1 and then a runner would take them in one bunch, but have to wait for a green signal to cross the runway!

I forgot about MX! I think they went down to the hammerhead when TWA pulled back until they pulled out of PHL altogether.

Last time I thought to look, there was still an old-technology self-parking device on one of the B gates that had "L-1011" written on it.

That was always great for starting rumors with the F/A's.
