Do You Want To Re- Elect Bush For Presendent!

When I was young, I remember George Carlin saying, "I watch CBS all the time, so I can say, F*%$ you, Dan Rather, you facist b@#$%d (or words to that effect!). I remember, as a young, dog-eat-dog Republican, who gleefully voted for Reagan, thinking that Carlin was proof liberals cannot even get their facts straight. Everybody knows the media is liberal, right?

Time and the school of hard knocks has educated me to the view Carlin was onto something. All of the major media outlets are owned by transnationals, and we know where Fox stands, right?

Over the years, I've judged the content of NBC, CBS, and ABC. On the issues of the day, they deliver corporate Amerika's talking points.

NAFTA? The media failed to deliver a balanced report. Gephardt made a cogent attack on NAFTA, which I caught on C-SPAN at midnight. It was not re-aired, referred to, and did not appear in print during the following week. The major media would have had us believe only the unions (commie bastards), Perot (the nuts) and Buchanan (the Brownshirts) were in opposition.

Outsourcing? Portrayed as inevitable, and infers that you are racist if you oppose sending your job to India and China. Just as the Japanese played the racist card on whoever opposed the one-sided trade we had with them in the 80's. Which was played up in the press.

You don't see the media hounding 'Kenny Boy" Lay like they did Martha, do you? How typical to let a woman take the rap.

How do you like this White House deciding we can't see the coffins of our honored dead? I have skin in this game - my cousin is in Iraq, and I pray for him, and his fellow soldiers, every night. I WANT everybody to know the full cost of Bush's "splendid little war" (the sole means he has replicated the deeds of his hero, T.R.).

It'd be amusing, if it weren't so dangerous. This country will never fall to the left. The facists have a decent shot, though.

How many members of the Bush Administration are needed to replace a lightbulb?

The answer is SEVEN:

(1) One to deny that a lightbulb needs to be replaced.

(2) One to attack and question the patriotism of anyone who asks questions about the lightbulb.

(3) One to blame the previous administration for the need of a new lightbulb.

(4) One to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secret stockpile of lightbulbs.

(5) One to get together with Vice President Cheney and award a one million dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton Industries for supplying a lightbulb.

(6) One to arrange a photo-op session showing Dubya changing the lightbulb while dressed in a flight suit and wrapped in an American flag.

(7) And finally one to explain to Dubya the difference between screwing a lightbulb and screwing the country.

How many Americans need to die before you leftists realize there is a Global War on Terror?

Answer: 10s of thousands, or even 100,000+ in a WMD attack in a major American city.

The 3,000+ on 9/11 wasn't enough to make you realize the terrorists declared war on us years ago. They have been on a war footing for a long time and only now are we doing so.

Make all the pathetic little snide remarks you want. Some of us are willing to fight the terrorists. Others whine about how we didn't do enough to prevent 9/11 while complaining we are doing too much to prevent something that would make the fall of the Twin Towers look like a drive-by shooting.

Never have so many whined so much while having their lives altered so little facing so great a threat.

Well this "leftist" realizes there is a Global War on Terror. Just cause someone doesnt agree with the war in Iraq doesnt mean they dont undestand this. And why is a WMD attack so special? Not having any WMD's hasnt stopped the terrorists from killing people.

911 was enough. I personally dont know anybody who is against our actions against Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Those pathetic little snide remarks may insult you, but they were not formed in a vacume.I respect the way you feel about them, and even question thier appropriateness myself sometimes, but the war on terror does not excuse the Bush administration, or anyone for that matter, from accountability.

Never have so many whined so much while having their lives altered so little facing so great a threat.

I have often though about this fact. My life has been altered significantly and those changes are directly related to 911. But other than driving on the Schuylkill every day, I face no unusual risk to my life, and I do feel guilty about this. The men and women who put themselves in harms way to protect us deserve the highest standing and level of respect in our society.

...tax cuts do stimulate the economy.......
In a first-order sense, yes. But since an economy is full of various and sundry feedback loops and fiscal eddies, choosing to only look at the first order conditions means that you'll likely be incorrect in predicting the ultimate result of an action.

After all, if you pull back on the yoke, the first-order condition is for the nose to rise, which suggests that, due to the increased angle of attack on the wing, the airplane will ascend. But anyone who has taken any flight classes knows that the second-order condition of a decrease in airspeed caused by the induced drag of an increased angle of attack is, in fact, significant enough that lift remains roughly unchanged, and only drag has increased. The ultimate change is a decrease in airspeed, not an increase in altitude.

So is it with the economy. Decreasing taxes can have a stimulant effect, provided the money left out of the government's coffers goes into the economy instead of into offshore bank accounts. Plus, money that goes into the US Treasury doesn't stay there long. If it did, we'd have surpluses, not deficits. And it doesn't get buried in the ground. It gets spent. In our economy. Increased government spending also stimulates the economy.

What's behind this culture of demonization, anyway? It really is beyond childish. It borders on the scary.

Hastert: "Who?"

Reporter: "John McCain."

Hastert: "Where's he from?"

Reporter: "He's a Republican from Arizona."

Hastert: "A Republican?"

Dont you just get the feeling McCain is gonna end up on the Democratic ticket?

Back to the OP's question: what are my choices?

Given the current crop of candidates, I'd re-elect Bush without question.

why not?
we must kill this terrorism thing or it will return......he's the man...kerry will not pursue.
think of the what if's for your children and grandchildren.
