Dougs first trip to CLT?

What you see with DP is real. He's been a breath of fresh air since Bill Franke left.

Ain't that the truth!!

As disgruntled as I can be about pay, senority, non-rev policies, I wouldn't trade in Doug for any other CEO I can think of...

Anyone else attend from the inflight division? Let us know.

I thought Mr. Parker did a good job of communicating with the group. Although it was a canned presentation it was not too hard to understand. Sometimes all the facts and details distract from the message in such a short time frame.
The biggest thing I found in Mr. Parker was hope. Hope for a change, a good change. And most importantly, engagement in that change. Not a "my way or the highway" type of situation. Of course, time will tell. And after all we've been through, about the only thing I have left to donate is some time.
I was dissapointed at how he felt about heavy maintenance. But I do get the feeling that having the ability to farm it out as needed doesn't equate to wholesale slaughter. At least from him, now when the bean counters get ahold of it it would be another story. Again, there's that middle level of management that can destroy any good operation without even knowing it. I must add that the folks he brought with him did seem genuine and approachable, which is refreshing.

So with that comment, I'm assuming that you're off to start your own company? Because if you never trust one CEO, no matter where you are..then you are setting yourself up for a life of misery. You probably need to jump ship and become your own boss.

Well said!

i was there too. and i was kmpressed i asked a question about that damn huge banner sw has in phl stating " pittsburgh promptly" i did not get the answer i wanted from dp . but c.w. howell . responde saying that he wasn't to happy with that banner neither. and that he was talking to the city of phl about it . other than that, i liked what dp had to say. let's give this guy a chance. i think positive changes are coming to airways. he acknowleged ( i hope i spelled that right) that the new management will make some mistakes which is to be expected. but from my point of veiw, we need to look at the old management and see that this new management is here to make a change for the better. once again, let's give dp a chance to see what he is about.
