Plenty of room on the PIT employee bus.
But then you have to try to get on a plane.

This sounds like BOS. It's been years since I worked there, but wasn't there also a railroad crossing in East Boston on the way to/from the employee lot? When I first transferred to BOS back in '96, I think we were the only station that had a time card swipe system with our badge's because of some MASS. overtime thing. The three minute grace period was never enough for the ride in.We have an employee parking garage (as nice as it really is) that is situated across a working drawbridge from the airport side.
When ships have to come through, which is not uncommon, it requires a stressful wait and calls to scheduling.
The ride is fine just very crowded at times. Delta has their own crew transportation system and parking area here. Never the 'twain shall meet. 🙄
That was not their first choice for names. They were going to be called "Federal Air Transport Airport Security Service". Someone got wise and figured that acronym would not look too good on the uniform. You work it out. In some cases it would actually apply.![]()
The PHL bus drivers wait until they see someone get out of their car and then floor it- the game is to pick up as few people as possible. The slamming on the brakes while going up the ramp onto the highway with bags rolling everywhere is interesting too.
I had to ride it at 1030 the other night, there must have been sixty people on that bus... a ramp guy near me and an unseen lady (well, female) on the other end of the bus were yelling back and forth playing a variation of "yo mama"... I'm not sure if they were serious or joking but allegations of bad breath, STD's and a weave made out of the chest hair of someone's mother were involved. I was sort of crushed against the wall wondering what my life had become.
Riding the bus in PHL reminds me of what it must be like taking a bus as an inmate to prison.![]()
I take it only FA's have nice smelling orifaces? We affectionately refer to the Employee Bus Experience in CLT as the Armpit and A-hole express. Because if you're lucky enough to get a seat, you're going to either have to smell the sweaty A or AH of some ramper who has been busting his tail all day outside. Summer months are especially bad.
Winter is bad too because when someone...um..passes gas on the bus, the smell lingers a lot longer.
It's misery. It's MISErRYYYYYY
Actually, I wouldn't know, but if they were in extreme weather conditions tossing big bags and running back and forth from plane to plane I'm sure that their armpits would smell. I am not sure about orifaces.I take it only FA's have nice smelling orifaces?
